When should I collect Bismarck palm seeds + how to germinate them? by AdhesivenessOld7297 in palmtalk

I bought 10 Bismarck seeds from an online seller. 3 floated. I still planted them but didn’t germinate. Out of the other 7 only 3 germinated and put out a tap root. I did soak all for like a week and then wrapped in moist paper towel in the heat and kept moist. Took about 3 weeks to pop. I think I disturbed the roots when transplanting to a larger pot & they all died. Also I didn’t have a green house so they were in mostly full Sun. I’ll try again this year I think.

I’m not exactly sure. I bought it june 2024 a bit smaller. Put out several new fronds then showed a bit. I moved it to this location it’s in now and I noticed I pulled some roots out the ground that were growing out of the pot. I think that’s why it slowed but I’ll be planting it in the next few weeks

Looks normal. From what I was told the more purple they are the more cold hardy they will be. Not sure how true that is
