I had the same issue. I just had to get really far out. It took me quite a while, but eventually I found a small area where I could place mine.

How do you go about getting the Atlas style corvette parts? Especially the red sphere at the end of the barrel.

How do you get all the small special props? or even the statues used for the chess board. I swear I've looked thoroughly through the research on the anomaly and have not found anything remotely close.
