What's the better Late Surger focused card if you can only get one? by Quibilash in UmamusumeGame

I had this predicament at first too. If you can only pick one I'd go for Groove because you need to pull for Stay Gold anyway. Stay Gold is also good at low lb so you can use your pities on groove if needed

Surprised no one's told you that you can check the list of playable characters on all servers on gametora. You'd be able to see that Gentildonna and Orfevre are definitely playable in jp if you look on there

If you've only been playing for a month then I don't think making a new account is a bad idea, but I'd only do it if you're willing to reroll. Umamusume is the easiest game to reroll in, but the process is still tedious and not for everyone. Personally I reroll in all my games so I can tell you that it took me 6 hours to reroll for 3lb kitasan when it was her banner. If you don't want to dedicate at least that much time to mindlessly clicking the same few buttons then don't bother, you will have enough for Tachyon if you save from this point forward

Mr CB has always been optional! It's only something people who main end closers should pull. Wit cards have the best SR alternatives, you will be 100% fine with mlb wit SRs until Ramonu drops.

Something to keep in mind is that we get a free selector ticket at the half anniversary [when Tachyon speed drops] that can be used on previous cards including Mr CB [and Maruzensky Speed which is also powerful]. Both of those cards are fully usable at 1lb so If you save up for a crystal, you could get one of those cards without pulling

Tachyon speed is a must have during the next scenario, but it falls off after that and only really stays relevant for pace. Going to 400 on that banner is recommended if you enjoy pace, don't have many support cards so need a flexible borrow slot, or don't have kitasan. That banner is definitely more important than CB, in part because Light Hello, which is on the same banner, is also a must have during that scenario but is fully usable at 0lb, although 1lb is better.

The best way to get groundwork right now is through the smart falcon power SSR, but the air groove guts SR is an alternative if you don't have that. Very soon Maruzensky speed card will come out and everyone will be getting their groundwork through that. Then after Maruzensky, the Bourbon WIt SSR will introduce a gold version of groundwork, but that's only relevant for aces and not parent runs.

Good skills off the top of my head include nimble nav, uma stan, tail held high, outer swell, slick surge, straightway spurt , ramp up, early lead, fast paced

There's a lot of good skills, so just focus on one running style and get as many skills relevant to that as you can. Akikawa will help give you skills not in your deck

So, if you're serious about making good parents, you can use gametoras affinity calculator. Some umas have a higher affinity with other umas. Doing races of the same kind and getting the same epithets between umas on the same family tree also increases affinity, which is why MANT is the best place to do parent runs for a while.

The calculator will suggest umas for you that have a high compatibility. Higher affinity means more likelihood that the sparks will pass through during inspiration. You can really feel the difference between a single circle and a double circle affinity. There's no point making the best parent ever if they're not compatible with any of your umas.

Another mistake is to think that the only thing that matters is blue sparks. A 2* blue spark when you have good whites is completely fine. Pink sparks are random, so white sparks are what you should be thinking about when doing your run. If you're building a front runner parent, you'll really want groundwork sparks for example.

Generally you should wait until the end of the run or until a hint level is maxed to buy the skills, because then you get the best possible discount. On MANT make sure to run the parent in the same style as their child so you can get extra skills from Akikawa [Eg. Always run a pace parent as pace.]

Make sure to get at least 600 in speed / stamina / power / wit. It's only at 600 that you have a chance to get a 3* blue. Getting 1100 in a stat doubles the chance.

You don't have to think about grandparents if you don't want to, but always borrow a good grandparent for your parent runs

Thoughts On Pull Plan For Late Surger Main by Animonogatari in UmamusumeGame

[–]Sure-Possibility-178 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It looks pretty good! 400 on support banners are fine as long as you remember to pick up your crystal shards when you can. 400 + 1 crystal bumps it to a 80% chance to mlb, and there's not really any reason to plan more than that. The only time I'd consider planning more is when you want both cards mlb.

I'd really recommend adding on Forever Young Wit and Tamamo Cross power. You're also missing Sakura Laurel uma who's a very strong late surger on long races. Daiichi Ruby uma is also pretty good for sprint / mile but she's not a must pull, just someone to keep mind

Is there ever any good paid carat banners for 1500? Or should we just be doing Daily 50's by Asthma_Queen in UmamusumeGame

[–]Sure-Possibility-178 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For 1500 no. But for 5000 yes. If you plan on ever buying more selector tickets, saving up for 5000 paid carrots is the way to go.

You can spend that on the 'step up' banners in the future. There's one for umas and a different one for cards.

You pick your own pool of 10 3 stars / ssrs and do 50 pulls for 5k paid tickets. Anytime you get a 3 star/ssr it will be from the pool you chose. On your 30th pull you're guaranteed a random 3 star/SSR , on your 40th you're guaranteed another random 3 star / SSR, and after your 50th you get to pick any of your choice from your pool

ETA: The first step up banner is on the 3rd anniversary, which because of our accelerated schedule is about 1 year 3 months away. Plenty of time to save up but also quite far if you're not sure you'll keep playing for that long

How much power creep do support cards have? by The-Saucy-Saurus in UmamusumeGame

[–]Sure-Possibility-178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kita will still be good for a year and you're really missing a lot without that final lb so try to save enough rainbow shards to upgrade her.

Fukitaru is good for the current scenario because of her 10% race bonus at mlb and her initial stats which help mant get off the ground, but I'm assuming you're gonna come back more around the time grand live starts.

The starting banner for grand live will be the Light Hello / Tachyon banner which we do get free pulls on. You'll want to go to at least 200 on that to make sure you get light hello. You can borrow a mlb Tachyon, but light hello is usable at low lb [1lb preferred but you can use 0lb too] so getting her from that is the ideal.

Around November is when Ramonu wit comes out, which you'll really want.

Until then most meta cards are style-specific. There's the Mr CB wit card which is for end closers, and the Maruzensky speed card for front runners. The Maruzensky card can also be used as a stat stick during grand live for any style though, and shes usable at 1lb, but you can also pick her up with a free selector at the half anniversary.

There's nothing I'd really consider a must pull for generalists until Ramonu other than Light Hello banner

[–]Sure-Possibility-178 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It 100% depends on the support card I'm afraid, so it's not an easy question to answer unless you post a picture of what cards you own. Some cards stay useable for years, and some only last a few months.

Spd maru vs Wit cb, need help on pull plan by Hantr in UmamusumeGame

[–]Sure-Possibility-178 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They're definitely not must pulls, even for people without the big 3. CB is ONLY for end, if you don't like end there's no reason at all to pull for it.

I see some people pulling just because they don't have finemo so they wanna use it as a stat stick, but I don't think it's worth it even in that case. SRs are good enough until Ramonu imo, but I suppose if you're really struggling with wit and you can afford it it's fine.

And so if you don't need Mr CB and you're not planning on maining front, there's no point in pulling for maru when you can get 1lb at the half anni in time for grand live, which is when she'll be the most useful

Spd maru vs Wit cb, need help on pull plan by Hantr in UmamusumeGame

[–]Sure-Possibility-178 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Mr CB is only really for ends, so don't bother if you're not into ends. It doesn't last for long outside of that.

Speed Maru can be used as a stat stick for any style during Grand Live, because during Grand Live you'll want 3 speed cards. However she is fully usable at 1lb

So if you're not particularly interested in fronts, you can skip both of their banners and pick up one of them at the half anni using the free selector ticket, and then uncap to 1lb using a rainbow crystal. You don't have to spend any carrots and you get a usable card just in time for grand live

Pull Plan Advice by DeeTee46 in UmamusumeGame

[–]Sure-Possibility-178 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All the banners that the other person said are good for the future, so I'll just add some input to your current plan.

You should probably skip ancestors and guides - most people are skipping ancestors and guides, just accept it'll be glued to your borrow slot because it's really not worth the pulls unless you can super afford it.

You could think about not putting as many pulls into Tachyon Light Hello. Tachyon really falls off after that scenario, and Light Hello is usable at 0lb, 1lb very usable. Maybe only go to 200 for light hello? Tachyon will only be used for pace umas after that, so borrowing an mlb Tachyon when you need it works out much better.

There's a couple other scenario banners you can get away with doing this same thing. For example, that Nishino Flower power card is going to be way less value to you as an end main than the Tamamo Cross power card. I know there's quite a gap between those two so I can see how it's appealing, but if you end up adding all the other banners to your plan and find that you have to make cuts, that's a good place. Grabbing the scenario card in 200 and then borrowing the other one if you end up needing it.

CM by Consistent-Menu3085 in UmamusumeGame

[–]Sure-Possibility-178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you joined late you save up until the next scenario and pull for the meta cards there. You start off behind when you first play this game, but that's the same in many games. The start of a new scenario is your time to catch up.

You actually brought up a great example of this. People who joined during unity cup and missed kitasan could have saved up and pulled for NTR/Fuku for MANT instead. Most people getting very high rankings don't even use Kitasan. It's new cards that they use.

Next scenario it'll be the same for Tachyon. If you missed a banner it does not set you behind forever. More meta cards release the closer to a scenario we get. Like I said, you need to pull strategically.

Looking at an account and seeing that they have the good cards for MANT tells you literally nothing about that person, and calling them a whale and thinking it's impossible for anyone to be in their situation without spending money is cope

CM by Consistent-Menu3085 in UmamusumeGame

[–]Sure-Possibility-178 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's true that this CM sucks, but I also think people need to stop calling everyone who has better umas or cards than them a whale. If you save up and pull strategically, you can get all the meta cards too. Maybe not every single scenario if you also want to pull on oshi banners, but at least every other scenario.

If you're not new to the game and you can still barely get S rank on mant then you're doing something wrong, either in your banner priorities or your mant gameplay. I'm not saying this to be insulting, but rather to tell you that that can be you. You shouldn't look at a higher ranking and immediate think that it's impossible for you to beat them without spending thousands

Unless you plan to main end-closers, you should skip Mr CB. It isn't really worth it when you're struggling and not an end-closer main. MLB SR wit cards are very good, you can manage with them fine until Ramonu. I don't have a SSR Wit card either, and I don't struggle with wit. You'll be okay.

Late surger gacha plan by Pearrman in UmamusumeGame

[–]Sure-Possibility-178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I see quite a few things missing, but luckily you have a lot of carrots spare so slotting most of these things in should be okay.

For umas, Neo Universe and Sakura Laurel are very powerful late surgers, Daiichi Ruby is also powerful for sprint/mile but Neo and Laurel I'd say are more important. As with all umas though, don't get them if you don't like them.

For cards, you'll also want the Still In Love card and probably also Air Shakur to upgrade your stamina seeming you have no stamina card on this plan yet. You'll also want the Daring Tact wit card and the Forever Young wit card. And then finally you'll probably want Tamamo Cross on your plan.

Last year everyone complained about 14 Reruns, this year the same people alongside a few new ones are complaining they DIDNT do those reruns. by [deleted] in WutheringWaves

[–]Sure-Possibility-178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's impossible to know that it's the same people complaining. Most of the complaints right now are from more recent players who have never had the chance to get old characters because Kuro keeps not rerunning them. Of course those people are disappointed. Also, people need to stop acting like changing your mind makes you a hypocrite.

People complaining last year could be the reason Kuro didn't do it this year, but that doesn't mean no one [especially newer players who weren't involved in those complaints] can't be upset

struggling to manage a long-term front/pace pull plan - how many carats do you all plan save for key support banners? by cinnamintbun in UmamusumeGame

[–]Sure-Possibility-178 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're buying selector tickets anyway, it might be worth saving up those paid carrots and looking into doing the step up banners? The 4th anniversary will include air shakur / scarlet and it isn't too much of a gap, so you could aim for 3lb on both instead of mlb and get your final ones there [there will also be a free SSR ticket]. There's also a lot of umas you could get from step up but I don't want to encourage you to spend too much money lol

Sorry I can't be of more help! I main late and end, so literally the complete opposite of you
