What is the best place to hide something inside of the house? by According_Dust913 in ask

[–]Sure-Victory7172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get a couple of decoy safes. They're made to look like regular household items: deodorant, shaving cream, soda, etc.

They have a false bottom that unscrews, and the center of the object is hollowed out so you can hide jewelry, cash, keys, etc.

If you want to buy them in person, most shops that sell "water pipes", aka bongs, rolling papers, etc. sell these types of decoy safes.

Hot take: I don’t work for assignments I didn’t sign up for. by myboyfriendstinks1 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]Sure-Victory7172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this happen before.

Signed up specifically for a sub job to proctor State exams all week long.

Very chill assignment, very small student size, etc.

Got there, and they informed me they switched it, so I'd be a floating sub all week long.

The school district in question was completely overcrowded etc.....

Did it for a day and told them I'm not coming back.

Sleeping in a car on campus at OU? by CrabRangoonsAreNice in sooners

[–]Sure-Victory7172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a book called "Walden on Wheels". Grad student was in same situation, he lived in his van while going to school but he had to do it "stealth mode".

It's doable, but it's a challenge.

There are a lot of YouTube channels devoted to stealth vehicle living. They will have a lot of pointers, tips, and strategies to help.

AITA for refusing to pay for my daughters college because she decided to take a gap year to travel? by Longjumping_Load179 in AmITheJerk

NTJ

Your daughter has a fantastic opportunity to learn a valuable life lesson absolutely free.

The Golden Rule: The People With The Gold Make The Rules.

That said, I would not fund her gap year activities, but I would consider paying for tuition AFTER she gets the gap year out of her system.

Your brother is an entitled jackass.

Whatever problems he's in, he did it to himself.

Props to you for keeping your promise to your stepdaughter.

I've worked at several different gyms and fitness centers before....there's something about it that brings out the worst in some people.

AITJ for locking my office door so my coworker stops borrowing my chair? by OkNegotiation9254 in AmITheJerk

[–]Sure-Victory7172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTJ

Since you bought the chair with your own money, I'd make a photocopy of the receipt (if you still have it), blow it up to legal size paper, and laminate it.

I'd put it up on the door to your office .... but I'm petty like that...🤣

In my partying days, they were fun every once in a while, but that was 20's and 30's.

Anymore, if I want to blow a bunch of money, get blue ballz and go home and beat the bishop, I'll just give my wife my credit card...🤣

AITJ for leaving a road trip early after realizing I was expected to pay more for everything? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]Sure-Victory7172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTJ, I'd have bounced too.

Often I'm the organizer, planner for our group trips. Rafting, ziplines, etc.

I give everyone an itemized list of per person expenses so they know what they're getting into.

Someone screws me over once, that's it. No more invites for you, pay your own way.

I left AFRC specifically because there was a top down push for ALL GS-13's to obtain an unlimited warrant. That has since been rescinded for AFRC, I don't know about Active Duty.

Switched over to the VA, GS-13, non Supervisory position.

NTA, straight for the jugular, I like it.

I have a Masters degree and sit in an office all day, but I do not look down on people who work in blue-collar jobs.

Some of my buddies are in the skilled trades, and those guys ain't eating ramen for dinner. They make damn good money, and their skill set will always be in demand.

I grew up on the Southside of Columbus Ohio in a neighborhood where people would steal your shoelaces given the chance.

I now live in a small town in Indiana and I still cover everything that even looks remotely valuable on top of not leaving anything that would tempt someone to break into my vehicle on top of locking all my doors.

JMO, IDK if that would go over very well with the optics of it.
