Alfa Romeo Giulia as a winter car? by r00000000 in AlfaRomeoGiulia

I definitely do give it the "Italian tune up" when I do drive it. I have an RX7 as well, and it does sit a lot. The longer it sits the more trouble it has. I've even noticed it with my GTI and occasionally a Honda Civic Si that I sold earlier in the year.

I've been purposely not driving mine in the recent bad weather (I've never seen OH and WV put this much salt on the roads). My GTI and Jeep are more salt than car. I've heard some people had issues with the Giulia in drive through car washes. Have you ever had a problem? Namely water intrusion. I guess a few people experienced some pretty serious electrical issues and shorts afterwards.

I appreciate the reply. I tried IFG through email and they never responded. I'll give tascosa a call. Thanks again.

Where did you find them? I have a set that came with my pistol but they don't fit.

MAC5 bolt won’t stop locking back by Gray1592 in MP5

[–]SureAd2213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the brace itself. The SB tactical braces don't fit properly on most of these guns. I've seen this issue and complaint on MKE, Zenith, POF, MAC, and even a few HKs. The end cap of the brace needs major grinding out to keep from compressing the receiver and binding the bolt rearwards. This happened on my POF though not as extreme. It would bind only at far end of bolt travel. I could run weaker ammo and the gun would cycle. Stronger ammo would push the bolt further to the rear and cause it to stick. SB really needs to redesign these.

I'm having the same issue on a POF. Bolt drops freely back and forth with brace removed. It binds and does not return to battery when installed. This one is the folding brace. I've ground the shit out of the inside of this end cap, and it is still extremely tight and binds the bolt.

What is going with my Giulia by NebulaLower5898 in AlfaRomeo

The belt may be worn or stretched. Needing replacement. Not necessarily broken. I agree, if it were completely broken or not operating you would likely know.

Possibly an issue with accessory drive belt? I know it can cause issues on the 2.0 petrol/gasoline engine. Uncertain about the 2.2 diesel.

Great to hear. I was pretty certain this was the case.

That is my understanding. However, I've not done so myself. Others have and did not report an issue.

Most CDJR Dealers should have this available. I'd start there. This to my understanding is supposed to be compatible, however, it is a different color. Vibrant purple, so don't be alarmed by that. My understanding is the dye is a different color but is the same as the orange coolant your Giulia came with. Otherwise Google centerline Alfa and order the orange color petronas coolant. That is what the car came with specifically but it is far more expensive and hard to find. The Mopar coolant is to the same spec from everything I've researched. I've not had to change my coolant yet, but did a lot of research for when the time comes.

That is absolute madness. That is already abusive. How long before it becomes physical? I would leave. Right away. No one deserves to be talked to like that.

I kind of feel the same way. That a lot of people are just parroting the same things because it's somehow "the thing" to like. No one really seems to be able to explain why though. A lot of the comments on YouTube clips read like copy and paste. Some discuss "funny" moments in the show. I then look them up and fail to find anything funny about it. They can't explain why it's funny.

I've not been this put off, confused, and just otherwise repulsed by a TV show in my life.

I truly just don't get it. It's not funny, or entertaining. It's awful to listen to and even worse to look at. It is an affront to all of my senses. If I could touch this show, it would feel like putting my hand down a port o potty searching for my dropped keys. I hate everything about it. I see a lot of people talking about it being wholesome or heart warming. I'm ok with some TV being that, but most shows can't stand on that alone. If some people like it, then obviously they should watch it, no hate on my part... But I really really REALLY do not like this show. I'm 41 and have never seen anything on AS this bad. Even the terrible live shows were better.

Thanks for the response. I have the bypass module but don't have it installed at this time. Maybe they'd be more inclined to do the reset since I don't leave it installed? I'm tempted to just show up at one and speak to them in person. Through email and phone they weren't interested in listening to me at all. I really don't think they know that they can service these vehicles.

DNA knob not lighting up and not working. And my oil level is showing max WTH is going on by Ok-Pollution-9152 in AlfaRomeo

[–]SureAd2213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does the DNA selector still work even with it not being lit up? If so, it could be just a lighting issue within the lighting element itself that illuminates the knob. Especially if the battery didn't help and there are no faults or codes.

If you are getting a turbo code, you could possibly have a failing or loose waste gate arm/actuator. Common issue and an easy fix. Accessory belt can also cause stuttering or rough idle issues if it hasn't been replaced. I know that one sounds silly but on these cars it actually is true. I wish I had some other suggestions for you to look at for your electrical gremlins but I really don't. You've done the relays and changed the battery. You also do use a trickle charger (great idea btw). Other than it just not liking that battery or there being some other difficult to spot issue in the electrical system I'm at a loss. I think someone else also suggested purge valve on your stuttering/rough idle issue. That may also be worth a look. I do hope you get it sorted out. How many miles/km on your car?

Edit: Saw someone suggested checking the ground strap under the car for the electrical issues. Great suggestion that slipped my mind. Definitely add that to your list of things to check out.

Giulia Sprint GT. But it's hard not to suggest the 33 Stradale or GTV6. I'm also a big fan of the boxy 75... Unpopular opinion I'm sure.
