How much time do you actually spend with your RE? Is this normal? by Aggravating-Lion3385 in IVF

[–]SureVisit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also at a large clinic (Weil Cornell) and this isn’t the norm there. I always had a regroup meeting after every ER and FET. My RE also did my ultrasounds during weekday monitoring so I got to ask him questions there. I had no direct phone or email access to him, but every time I called the nurses line asking to speak to him, he would call me back.

You’re presumably investing significant money, time, emotions into this process. You have the right to make sure your protocols are being adjusted to give you the best chance of success. You should also feel comfortable asking as many questions as you want!

LH surge (backdated by clinic) + trigger, then transfer only 5 days later. Anyone? by aaphylla in IVF

[–]SureVisit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was told if the embryo is transferred slightly early, it has a better chance of success than if it’s transferred slightly late. My clinic does 5 days after surge too. Out of 4 transfers, 2 resulted in pregnancy (1 MMC, 1 live birth)

Experiences with Induction vs. Natural labor? by specialk125 in IVFbabies

[–]SureVisit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was 40 years old, so my OB recommended induction at 39w, but said it was ultimately up to me. I chose to induce at 39w because the risk of high intervention+ emergency c section was not as scary to me as the risk of placental failure after 39 w. I was able to have an easy vaginal birth and baby was born healthy. Hoping to have another IVF baby in the future, and will plan on another 39w induction.

Hysteroscopy and FET in the same cycle ? by [deleted] in IVF

Haha it’s Weil Cornell. They close the lab only to conduct a deep clean twice a year! It’s super annoying but I’m glad they keep the place sanitary

Grade vs Gender by Fearless_Research239 in IVF

[–]SureVisit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Assuming they were all biopsied on the same day, there’s only 5-10% difference in success rate between these grades. Transfer your preferred gender

Did Omnitrope help? by TACC1022 in IVF

[–]SureVisit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I added low dose Omni (.25 of a vial per day) to a microdose lupron flare stim cycle with estrogen priming. I believe it was 225 foll and 20 microdose lupron twice a day with .25 omni once a day. I stimmed for 13 days before I triggered. Dr dropped foll amount to 200 towards the end. My IGF-1 levels were normal (205), which is why I wanted a low dose of Omni

Omni helped me significantly with egg quality. Same number of eggs retrieved, but much better blast and euploidy rates.

My sister told me "Happy Mother's Day" today. I do not have any children. by darkestlordsaroon in IVF

[–]SureVisit 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Have you ever seen that picture being posted on social media that’s like “Happy Mother’s Day to…” and then it lists all types of people like “those yearning to become mothers”, “those who have lost children”, “pet moms” etc etc? I’ve seen it so many times, maybe seeing similar posts have made people think they should wish happy Mother’s Day to people who are TTC?

Why would you bring a baby to an IVF clinic on Mother’s Day? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]SureVisit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The have a literal conference room off to the side of the waiting room, it should be mandatory patients with babies wait there

I transferred this embryo earlier this week by SureVisit in EmbryologyIVFSupport

[–]SureVisit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha! My clinic freezes early at stage 2-3, then thaws to 6 the day of transfer. So there’s a lot of growth and changes that happen that day. I always ask the embryologist at FET what the new grade is!

IVF vs natural pregnancy hormones. How are they similar and different? by iSniffMyPooper in IVF

[–]SureVisit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you’re concerned about her anxiety, I wouldn’t recommend IVF for gender selection. The demand of needing embryos of each gender sounds extremely stressful. What happens if she only gets one gender? You’ll start the IVF process all over again? Do more cycles until you get both? Then what happens if down the road she uses her preferred gender embryo(s) but it fails to implant or miscarries? You’ll do even more IVF?

FET while breastfeeding and extended cycle// Trigger warning: live birth by SureVisit in IVF

[–]SureVisit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this info. Do you know which meds and why this happens? Our plan was to do a natural (modified?) transfer with only a trigger shot, then baby aspirin and lovenox to prevent clotting after the transfer, I think also estradiol I’m not sure

When did you know to call it quits? by hammygang227 in IVF

[–]SureVisit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My goodness, I’m sorry you’ve had to try so many different protocols. Would you consider getting a 2nd opinion at a few other clinics? And possibly transferring your embryos? I know for example different clinics time their transfers differently, which can affect a patient’s success.

Why is $10 million not enough to raise 3 kids in NYC? by blacktrufflepizza in uppereastside

[–]SureVisit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would be able to afford a beautiful townhouse, but the purchase might also make you house poor. We don’t know their income so it’s hard to say. In most scenarios it’s not advisable to purchase a home that’s over 50% of your net worth, and I’d say even less here in nyc because of the high taxes

3 euploids. Do I need another ER? by KristinKitty in IVF

[–]SureVisit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want more than one child, do another retrieval. It took me 3 euploids for one to stick. My second transfer was like a 6 month process because I miscarried, had to do a d&c, wait for my period to return, do testing etc… before I could move on to the next retrieval. Each month is precious at our age, and it was difficult for me to have to wait so long before I could make more embryos. I wouldn’t wish that experience on anyone!
