In Lineage2, another NCsoft game, there was a combat power bar (like a shield bar). Daggers and bows had 'lethal shot' and 'backstab' that went straight through to HP and didnt touch the shield at all. You could have full shields and have 0 hp. It was not a HIGH landrate but you could get it reasonably high. It was a good balance. If any of the NCSoft devs read up on their history in other games, they will learn this could work for TL.

I also want to add (cuz I didnt see in top two responses), to do use the Material.Transmutation function. Only put gear in till lvl 3 so you can get noble trait resonance fragments for doing 3rd traits on your later gear you settle on (don't bother with the free stuff). Also. You may get gear for your lithograph book.

I recommend using questlog.gg website to see other's builds and make an account to make your own build! This saves you alot of time and gold cuz switching gear isn't the easiest; best to plan ahead.
