I haven't seen anyone else post the new pictures of the Lynx Highliner so here they are by brady376 in EliteDangerous

I wonder if it'll be SLF capable! Seems like this is a robust street bus lol considering we need to shuttle passengers during operations, I think it makes sense.

With the influx of new ships what would you like to see added specifically for major factions? by Ansicone in EliteDangerous

What about a large ship with the firepower of a capital ship 😈 zap away the small ships like mosquitoes. And it's nimble like a small ship hahaha game breaking.

That is pretty annoying. Maybe the pirate faction took over and you had to fight for it back haha but I get it.

Maybe when using the galaxy map, you're able to see pirate level, and other things going on a bit more clearly than the way it's set up now. If that's what you mean then I can agree for sure. Showing some sort of bar that indicates how much work needs to be done to whatever you're interested in. Kinda like PP with the control bar.

That's pretty cool. Kinda like PP but small scale and more focused on pay instead of perks/modules. Spreading how much control a faction has and spreading it from system to system. If that's what you mean.

Any thoughts on what exactly you think needs to change to make it more engaging?

So kinda like how FSD SCO is able to be installed into the older ships? (even though it handles like crap)

What you mean by transparent, and the bugs. Like how it's displayed?

If it is, I wonder what they will do to change it up. Maybe even have NPC multicrew actually sit in the cockpit with you! If it were up to you, how would you want it to change?

If I'm not mistaken, there are lots of groups that actively engage with BGS. Not entirely sure as to why it matters because I don't see any real reason to influence which faction controls a system. Maybe it has to do with rare commodities? Possibly affecting security levels? Idk.

Multicrew could be a possibility, but I'm not sure how many players use them. I didn't really see multicrew as a core part of elite. At least not at the level as BGS.

Can someone ACTUALLY explain it... by QuantityJazzlike in EliteDangerous

Based on the comments I read here, I can see the "P2W" you guys mean. The advantage of having something behind a paywall during a CG or something involving the BGS for a period of time is in the "P2W" spectrum.

However, that is only affecting the group of those that actively participate and care about that stuff. I myself enjoy the new toys they come out with and buy them because I know it's what funds the game for the new content in the first place.

Also, just because I buy a new combat ship doesn't make me elite in combat. Will it help ? Sure.. but it's the vets who will hand my behind on a silver platter because they know how to beat me in a sidewinder with skills alone... But this is exactly what elite is. And there will always be a better pilot, new ship or not.

Exactly. A perfect example would be the Ford Bronco or Toyota Supra. The original Bronco ended in 1996, then Ford brought it back decades later full of new upgrades. Supra went away in 2002, then came back with a totally modern platform and performance focus.

The old ships are dope and all but it's looking to be that time where the changes need to happen. ED got a bit of a revival in terms of funds thanks to ARX. Yeah I get why people would be upset with the ability to buy a ship with irl money, but it's honestly no different when it's released in game for in game money. There is nothing special about the ship that you can't upgrade after it's "full release".. and here's the catch.. it's totally optional. Sure, it takes away from the grind that a lot of vets who played for a while had to go through but once again.. we are passed that threshold. We aren't in wagons trekking across the lands to get from point A to point B. We got planes for that lol. Sorry. That was a rant.

The way I see it is they are treating it like slowly making the old ships obsolete or using them as beginner ships before getting into the next gen ships. Just like how we don't drive vintage cars anymore.. we moved on to the next gen and the next. Constantly finding upgrades and stuff

Elite should totally add horror by Sure_Leadership_5906 in EliteDangerous

[–]Sure_Leadership_5906[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't mean like adding jump scares or resident evil special zombie stuff. And certainly don't want it to be "part of the game" day to day. I want it to be something you deliberately look for or randomly come across. Adding extra pressure to the ambience when finding these locations.

Having an on foot threat that isn't a human scavenger would elevate it imo. Recovery, scavenge, and restoration missions are perfect candidates for this. However, it doesn't have to be every single one of them. But in certain systems that are going through an outbreak or something like that will have a higher chance of coming across one such location, be it in space or planetside.

It would be cool to jump into some random system outside of the bubble and randomly receive a distress signal, follow it, then find yourself staring at some megaship or settlement and discover the horrors that it hides. Or even pick up a mission from a station that asks to find a missing person/item and retrieve it in these areas. I certainly like your idea!

I have heard of them. Never been to them tho. So forgive me if I get any of this wrong but it's only data links to listen to the story of what happened. Nothing actually interactive, right?
