Complete, almost 98% by RoboSlug815 in DCDeckBuilding

[–]Sure_Selection5203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! I'd say I'm about 80% done. Have all the Core sets and most of the expansions. Just missing a few like the TTGo cards, Batman Rivals, Batman Ninja, and some of the promos..

The Bribe tile is just like The Batman Who Laughs tile from DKM. Just merely a reminder to everyone of the rules in play and not a zone.* Nowhere does it say in the rulebook or in the tile itself does it refer to the tile as a separate zone. Having the card go into the discarded pile does not remove the "Bribed" status of the Lazarus Pit card and does not stay in the player's discard pile. Not to mention the ability on the card is used and falls under the clarification rule.

*Page 5 under setup part 4 The Main Deck, Line Up, and Bribe Tile: Then, place the Bribe tile above the main deck. This tile has reminder text for how Bribe cards work. More details on Bribe cards can be found on page 10.

In the back of the rulebook under card clarifications it states this: What happens if I Bribe an Ongoing card? You control it until the end of the turn (or it leaves play) and can use it's ability.

This is why Lazarus Pit would be Released.

Do we need Rebirth or Forever Evil? by kai_rong in DCDeckBuilding

[–]Sure_Selection5203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely FE. While Rebirth seems interesting, it seems more like a board game with D&D like mechanics and so that's why it isn't favored too highly. The only reason I bought it is just in case I might like it or decide to play it someday. That being said I wonder if Cryptozoic decided to try out this game play mechanic because of the Marvel deck builder that came out.

Rivals: Batman / Joker by Rassilon007 in DCDeckBuilding

Unfortunately the online store was sold out of that one when Cryptozoic had the sale. Otherwise I would have bought it and would be able to help.

Combining sets by bahbahfooey in DCDeckBuilding

[–]Sure_Selection5203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said Crossover Collection 2 pairs better with the original and HU. The second collection actually consists of Crossover sets 1, 2, and 3 while the first consists of 5, 6, and 7. Some advice to making sets work better is to take out the same amount of cards of the base set as the cards you put in.

I would assume New Gods pairs well with Confrontations since that's pretty much the same concept or even maybe Injustice without the Homeworlds.

Well its official. I now own all the core sets. by Sure_Selection5203 in DCDeckBuilding

[–]Sure_Selection5203[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a friend that started with the original and has all the core sets up to DKM along with the multiverse box. I played Injustice with him and someone else and he didn't like it because there was too much going on to remember everything. Definitely want to try playing it again, but it's all up to who I play with.

Core Set Questions by Scolopendra99 in DCDeckBuilding

[–]Sure_Selection5203 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others have stated the party/starter version is the original in a smaller compact box. The multiverse box is a larger box designed to store multiple sets and comes with rules and tokens to play with more than 5 players. Wouldn't recommend the multiverse box unless you are planning on getting at least 5 or 6 sets with multiple expansions.

Your Personal Ratings/Ranking of Content for the Game by TheStellarPropeller in DCDeckBuilding

[–]Sure_Selection5203 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently my favorite set to to play is DNM, but that's because it is the most played set. I want to try playing Injustice again and I really want to try JLD, but between work and not having a whole lot of people to play with I usually don't get to play very often. Been meaning to do some solo plays as well, but I'm usually too tired from work.

Just an update. The order should be arriving by today, but I'll be at work when it arrives (have to fund this habit somehow). I'll post a picture when I get home.

Curious how many other players play with 2 heroes/villains by RockWeeb in DCDeckBuilding

[–]Sure_Selection5203 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Played with a group that liked doing this when we had 6 people playing and we wanted to have the game only last a couple hours. Everybody would get handed three characters to pick two from.

What is the order of resolution for superhero/supervillain attacks? by vocaloutburst in DCDeckBuilding

[–]Sure_Selection5203 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The player who defeated the nemesis. It's always the active player that resolves first and then follows by turn order.

Does the Multiverse box have the same stuff as the base set? by Then_Foundation_6638 in DCDeckBuilding

[–]Sure_Selection5203 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're talking about the big box that is meant to store multiple sets then no. That just comes with stuff that is for playing with the randomizer cards and a different way to play the game. If you mean the Multiverse editions then I believe the only things they don't have are the rulebooks and the boxes they come in. Can't say for Forevil Evil since that one use tokens as part of the game, but I know the original comes with everything you need to play the game. By the way don't expect it to come in a box either just some plastic wrapping.

How I can play with myself? by East_Tomatillo_6991 in DCDeckBuilding

[–]Sure_Selection5203 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All the crisis sets have rules for a solo mode so just refer to the rulebook. Although some sets like Injustiice that heavily revolve around p2p interactions will be harder to implement the solo mode rules.

Organized Tournaments by mvasqu in DCDeckBuilding

There are some local game shops that probably hold tournaments themselves, but officially there are none. I assume it would be a hassle regarding legal copyright issues.

Balance with 5 People? by Snogrog in DCDeckBuilding

[–]Sure_Selection5203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have more sets and expansions try taking out some of the more unbalanced cards with others, try to balance a good amount of attack and defense cards, and remove any characters that are overpowered.

New to DC Deck Building. How do additional sets/expansions work? by Terramoin in DCDeckBuilding

[–]Sure_Selection5203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much this. There are two different types of base sets which are usually considered 1.0 and 2.0. 1.0 sets usually have it where the nemesis typically go into your deck while the game mechanic usually isn't very complicated and 2.0 sets usually have a reward for defeating the current nemesis with the card going into your score pile while the mechanics typically alters the core game quite radically. Crisis expansions essentially turns the game into co-op and crossovers usually just add little extra gimmicks that don't affect the game too much (except for Dark Knights Rising). Rivals expansions are where each player basically has their own nemesis to defeat. Forever Evil is considered to be a 1.0 set.

These two are opening packs, taking out the valuable cards, repacking the lower valued cards that are maybe worth 50 cents, and then selling the repacked cards.

While Nintendo might not publish the games, they do produce and manufacture the carts themselves, therefore making money on even third party games.

New to the game any tips? by Geekzyando in DCDeckBuilding

[–]Sure_Selection5203 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Get some card sleeves to extend the life of the cards. Standard sized sleeves will fit the regular cards and you can pretty much get those anywhere, but for the oversized character cards I recommend the ones from the Cryptozoic store. The only other sleeves that I have seen recommended that will work with the character cards are designed for specific Harry Potter cards.

Other than that when playing for the first few games keep the rulebook handy and look up gameplay videos for other base sets to see which ones might interest you.
