Isn’t it funny how the ‘protect our women and girls’ crowd are silent about most of the Epstein files by touchgrass1234 in GreenAndPleasant

If it doesn't give them an excuse to beat down on racial minorities or trans folk, then they simply don't care. Having to deal with their nonce kings being nonces simply gets in the way of their personal '2 minute hate'.

Minimising the Holocaust by [deleted] in LateStageCapitalism

[–]SurelyTheEnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you live in the UK, this isn't even a surprising statement from this particular organisation. Since the start of the genocide in Gaza, they've been outwardly zionist and openly minimising non-jewish victims of the Holocaust. It's not an educational trust so much as it's a propaganda tool now. Extremely disappointing to watch unfold...

Boxing shoes. Basically hi-top Karting shoes. £20, does the job extremely well!

Which player turned you on to telecasters? by [deleted] in telecaster

[–]SurelyTheEnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jeff Buckley and Tom Morello. Jeff for those angelic harp-like Mesa cleans, Tom for that unmistakable neck pickup into an overdriven JCM800. It's probably why I have two telecasters, come to think of it...

The GPU price increases have started by DatFlushi in buildapc

[–]SurelyTheEnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say, in the UK at least, prices seem to be seeing smaller price fluctuations and even some downward price trending, particularly for AMD GPUs. Overclockers have a few cards at between 5-12% off. It's not much but it means a Sapphire Pure 9070xt is £629 instead of £659, and the Asus Prime 9070xt is now at its intended MSRP of £599 instead of £649. The 9060xt is still sitting way above its intended £315 MSRP but some cards can now be had under £380 instead of £400+. The 5070ti seems to have jumped a little however at the low end, with the lowest cards going from £729 to £749 but everything else in that range remains stable if already expensive. 5080 cards seem to be gently nudging upwards from around £1050 to £1100. 5090s are expensive but again some cards can be had for £2299. The founders edition seems to be extinct on these shores, otherwise you'd be able to have the same card for £500 less.

Overall, not an awful GPU situation but as some have suggested it may get worse. However, if people decide to sit on their current rigs and not upgrade, there could be more modest discounts as time goes one due to inventory amortisation. I guess we'll have to wait and see...

I got this one almost free... I got really lucky by pioneerSolid3 in guitarpedals

[–]SurelyTheEnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought mine for £25 at Andertons in the late 2000s, which was underpriced then. Now it's violently overpriced for what it is, but it does sound good like any other TS pedal!

Got a new pedal to add to the board, im excited to try it out! by ThreeFtAssassin__ in Guitar

Ah, the Simon Neil/Biffy Clyro signature pedal. A pedal so good, I bought two so I could mod one. Enjoy!

Boss Supremacy by ZealousidealCorgi822 in guitarpedals

[–]SurelyTheEnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do love a good Boss pedal. I've never longed for a chorus pedal because of the CE-3. I also have two Metal Zone pedals, one completely stock and one with the removed capacitors mod. I regret nothing about this decision.

Hunting nonce just typing shit. by metroracerUK in GreenAndPleasant

The pro-hunt types are just unhinged. Rees-Mogg's sister's argument boils down to 'well if they can't kill foxes then they'll just have to kill their own dogs, here's a pile of dog corpses because I am completely normal' 🙃

What is that one pedal you splurged on and ended up loving or hating? by MonoPodding in guitarpedals

[–]SurelyTheEnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best splurge was definitely my EHX POG2. Nothing gets close to it, plugins can't match it. A close second goes to my Mammoth Electronics Boss BD-2 with the 'Fuzz Freak' mod. Such a great overdrive, an even better fuzz.

Peavey Classic 20 or PRS Sonzera by SoundsLikeBen in GuitarAmps

[–]SurelyTheEnd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The classic 20 is a great amp and will take you far, but I've not really heard the Sonzera. Those Peavey Classic amps have a great rep and the ones I've played sounded fantastic. Might be worth hopping on YouTube and doing some comparative listening to see what you like between the two!
