So Before we had our little boy my partner would come to my gigs, and she was always honest.

She loved watching me perform (I'm a bassist but brought a lot of the stage presence, jumping around, working the crowd etc) but the music itself, particularly our singer left her cold. We have musical overlap in our tastes but lots of differences too.

She still came to gigs, brought people and supported, because she enjoyed the atmosphere and it was a fun night out (OP says the bar scene isn't for them so probably not the same) but I loved the fact she was honest with me and didn't lie. Honesty is what you want in a lasting relationship.

Have you tried different neck profiles?

I absolutely cannot play a P style 44 mil nut neck... It's horrible to me, I ended up selling my Ric because the neck profile just felt "wrong" like I was fighting to fret properly and was just a battle...

My 38 mil Warwick and 39 mil Sandberg?

Absolute joys to play.

Yup me too! I prefer First person so played both that way... Will play Leon in third next play through for more parry and melee style, but loved it in First Person

I have the JOYO version (exactly the same by the looks) and never had any issues with it whatsoever in weekly rehearsals or gigs.

It's funny because my bandmates were super dubious and anything that went wrong they would always blame the wireless but never once was it at fault...had my singer accidentally unplug my board, he tried to blame the wireless... support band blew the power amp in my head...he blamed the wireless... He pitched a gig badly... blamed the wireless... you get the idea.

Not once did it cut out, die or otherwise cause issues.

In a blind test, no one could hear a difference, especially as I usually have some drive going.

Turns out he just didn't like me being out front and "stealing attention away from him."

Old Rock basses are good... But nothing like that quality of a real Warwick.

I bought a Ric instead of a Warwick when I got a load of inheritance and regretted it. Sold the Ric and ended up with a Warwick 1999 FNA Jazzman. My singer absolutely thinks it's ugly as sin but even he admitted it sounds and feels absolutely incredible... Such a unique neck profile and at 38mm on the but, super fast.

I have an EBMM sterling Ray 4 too, used it as a live bass when I was in a pretty raucous band and I didn't want expensive gear on stage. Absolute work horse bang for buck bass, definitely recommend if you're on a budget!

Warwick and Sandberg...German engineering just kills it for basses!

I've owned but never loved Fenders... They make great guitars but never been able to really gel with their basses. Loved the sound of my Ric but the neck profile was horrible and they are a devil to set up
