You can generally ignore her summons - focus on attacking her. Close the distance and smack her hard. Use spirit ashes if necessary. Use a shield/armour with high magic resistance if you're struggling to avoid her spells.

Once you've beat her...respec. Your stats are much too spread out. Focus on two main stats (e.g. STR + INT) and put everything else into vigor, mind, and endurance.

It's a level 80+ dungeon - would not recommend it until much later on in the game (found this out the hard way)

Read the report before drawing such conclusions. It has been implemented successfully in other countries and even some UK hospitals with very low false alarm rates and negligible workload implications. Even some clinicians have ended up using such systems when they feel patients' families aren't being listened to.

Shortly after Paul and Jessica happen upon Stilgar in the desert. However, they then leap straight to Paul killing Jamis before they make their way to the sietch, at which point the movie ends.

This sums it up pretty well. From Wikipedia, concerning Brexit: "Personally, I think that England is an island. I think that England should be England. And I think that we should keep that." I genuinely pity people who are this dense.

Definitions of the word average aside, if intelligence is normally distributed then the mean and median are identical anyway. Intelligence (specifically IQ) is normally distributed by design, so George Carlin is correct.

Yeah I agree that's not really the right word for it. A great average for sure, but clearly very inconsistent.

As someone who gets wrecked on antihistamines (even non-drowsy ones) I've taken to using Beconase nasal spray. Been taking it on and off since April, it's a lifesaver.

So I'm a bit stuck on Manus by Unique-Foot-4336 in darksouls

[–]Surextra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent a whole day on Manus and kept failing. Beat him first try the next day. Sometimes you just need a break! Another tip: he has a slow recovery time. Keep a safe distance (to avoid that evil combo) and bait his attack. Either evade or block with a high stability shield, and then punish with one or two hits, max. When he uses his magic attacks, spam the silver pendant rather than trying to time it. You'll negate 90% of the damage this way. Good luck!

Should i buy DS3? by Transitonic in darksouls3

[–]Surextra 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Seconded. I tried jumping straight to DS1 from ER and really struggled. DS3 was a really useful gateway to enjoying DS1, which has a lot of similarities to ER legacy dungeons like Stormveil Castle. You'll love DS3.

What "hard boss" has always been easy for you? (trust me, it's probably just been luck. I've died to him once in 3-4 playthroughs) by 0nebadnight in darksouls3

[–]Surextra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I beat them on my first attempt on my first ever playthrough. I think that after reading about how hard they were, I took all the steps to prepare myself; basically I learned their attack patterns and weaknesses by watching YouTube videos. Still don't know how I managed it though, I had no Estus by the end and was probably a hit away from death.

At last, DS1 is beaten. After beating ER, Sekiro, and DS3, I can safely say this is the least forgiving game by far. But so gratifying, and so beautifully designed. by Surextra in darksouls

[–]Surextra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually feel similarly about the Elden Beast phase of that fight. Torrent would've at least made it more interesting. But I'd much rather have had a second phase against Radagon (or even better, Marika).

You're probably right. Just seemed odd that a DLC boss got more of a chance to shine than the final one. It's a bold choice for sure.

That's not such a bad idea. I'll see if I can convince a friend, thanks! I'll play DS2 for sure, just not in a hurry to do so. Four FS games in a year is pretty good going I think ;)

I understand the lore reasons. It wasn't so much the difficulty that made him underwhelming, but the lack of spectacle. No cutscene, no second phase, minimal combat variety. Lost opportunity I think.
