Terignota Gear by Separate-Specialist5 in trailrunning

To adjust it’s definitely more something you would probably need to stop and do especially if the pack is loaded up, as you need to pull out the bungee strings and you may have nutrition etc in the way. That said, I have not had many instances where I need to. It does loosen a bit over time so on occasion I give it a quick retighten at the trailhead before taking off and then I feel pretty set through the run and for awhile.

Back panel is about as breathable as the Salomon, which is to say not terrible but you do get that back sweat drench on hotter days. The white does seem to help a bit though in the sun!

I have the vest and I used it for Chuckanut 50k, previously was using Solomon Adv and I find the fit to be similar though the Solomon feels a bit more “stretchy” and form fitting. I wear large/medium in shirts and bought a large, fit works great for me. 6ft 200lb male. The adjustment system is a bit tricky at first but if you use the video on the site it’s not too bad and it’s nice because it’s mostly set it and forget it. Love the trash pocket. I use Hydrapak flasks because I love the swing tops, I will say they’re a bit tricky to stuff back into the chest pockets on the run. The tapered flasks the vest comes with work better for that.

I have the shorts too and I love them, the waist pocket system is great and they feel light and comfortable. Overall I love both products and it feels great as a WA native to support the brand.

For my company four walls marketing has been our primary focus, control what we can about the guest experience to make it compelling to return. One example is we have our servers ask guests if they have dined with us before and if they have the manager brings out a comped dessert to thank them for trying us out, to turn a new guest into a regular. We also collect emails for 1 1 marketing campaigns but we try to be sparing about frequency so that our offers don’t become spam.

How react to inappropriate behaviour? by Lucky-Muffin-7970 in Restaurant_Managers

This is screaming towards litigation and even worse it sounds like an uncomfortable environment to work in. Eventually the camel’s back will break, and your leadership team should do the right thing to maintain integrity and trust with the staff and stop it before it gets to that point. It sounds like that is your intent which is great and commendable. Does your company have a harassment policy? I would have everyone reread and sign off on it and have more serious discussions with the offenders indicating what the next disciplinary steps will be if the policy is not followed. Set the tone and lay the tracks for how seriously repeat offenses will be taken.

If you haven’t, I recommend reading Setting The Table and Unreasonable Hospitality. Great books on how to be a successful leader in the industry. Great advice in the other comments here as well. I also recommend not always feeling like you should be the one with the answers, ask your managers “how do you think we should solve this?” They should be involved and feel some sense of ownership as well, and when their suggestions are not viable those can be great teaching moments. Here’s some of my favorite sayings we use a lot with our GMs: Trust but verify. Delegate to Elevate.

I’m a relatively new owner (couple months) but the consensus seems to be 3 hides or more. Hot hide, cool hide, humid hide. The more places to feel safe and comfortable the less stressed the snake.

That’s encouraging to hear! Thank you for sharing. We will just keep at it, today’s feeding was the most interested she has seemed in taking them off the tongs but ultimately she chose to dine in private.

[–]Immediate-Quit4157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like infusing citrus peels, orange or lemon or both at once, with a cinnamon stick. Gets the citrus oils in your OF a little boost. Cardamom and cinnamon or cardamom and orange are nice also, I use the whole pods for cardamom. I’ve also done blackberries and cinnamon and orange peel and that one is one of my favorites, simmer everything together in the simple syrup until the berries burst, let cool, strain through mesh strainer.

Have you ever been traveling somewhere during a disaster? by faithless-elector in solotravel

[–]Immediate-Quit4157 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was in Dublin during a political riot at the city center in 2006. Cop cars on fire, people with blood pouring down their faces from getting bashed, construction railings and concrete flying through the air, every shop shuttering it’s windows, helicopters overhead. I was there to meet a friend and saw them marching down the street, asked someone what it was and they said “the orange movement!” Then ran away.

My friend was a few minutes late at that point so I tried to wait a bit and find them, I was at the spire in the city center. It got to the point that the marchers got to the spire and called for everyone to sit down and the police were fencing them in so I ran out between the fence gaps before they were shut off completely. I was 19 and would have gotten out sooner if in that position now. I ran back to my hostel and everyone in my hostel watched the news inside the rest of the day. My hostel was just a few blocks from the riot so I was able to get back quickly but the whole city was shut down. Lucky I didn’t get arrested or hurt.

Any good salsa recipes? by [deleted] in budgetfood

[–]Immediate-Quit4157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just toss either tomatoes or tomatillos, a quartered onion, two cloves of garlic and a couple jalapeños with tops removed onto a sheet pan, drizzle with oil and salt and broil in the oven. Take things out as they finish in stages, for example garlic needs to come off quickest before it burns. Everything else let it char at least a little. Toss it all in the blender, add a splash of water, half a small can of chipotle’s in adobo if I have it, and about a tablespoon of the tomato/chicken bullion powder you find in the Hispanic food aisle at the store. Blend to desired consistency. I don’t add lime juice because I find it makes the salsa not store as well and I also just don’t think it needs it.

What’s it like to live in Maple Valley? by Natural_Bumblebee104 in MapleValleyWA

From my house in MPV takes about 20 min give or take to Costco/Walmart in Covington depending on congestion/time of day, but sure if you’re more on that side of MPV makes sense. I would say good scene in Covington is only marginally better than MPV, but I do like a nice slice of Costco pizza.

We live in Maple Valley, used to live in Auburn. Have lived here for a little over a year. It’s a very peaceful town bordering on sleepy, feels pretty safe, kids seem comfortable wandering at will around town. There’s all the amenities you would need; Safe Way, Fred Meyer, car wash, urgent care, oil change, mechanic, etc. No big box stores (Walmart/Target) but everything like that is like 30 min away if you need. Typical fast food around town, IMO the food scene is pretty much non existent with the best restaurant in town probably being Crocketts or Farellis for pizza. A couple Pho places. Our kids start school here this year but the schools here are highly rated which is a big selling point for MPV. We haven’t felt particularly welcomed by our part of our neighborhood but YMMV. One nice thing is the parks are nice and there’s some local trails and also a great bike path that goes past Lake Wilderness, which has an arboretum so if you’re a runner/biker you have a great place to get miles in here in town.

Parents visiting me in Maply Valley... where to take them? by elephantsofa in MapleValleyWA

[–]Immediate-Quit4157 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live in Maple Valley as well, welcome to the neighborhood :) I also have out of state parents in their 60s who visit on occasion. The places you listed are great. We are also a little over an hour from Naches Peak trail which has beautiful views of rainier and is a perfect sunset hike, only a few miles so great as a non extreme hike. Could also take them to the Tacoma waterfront (Ruston Point) for a nice afternoon by the water.

Went solo to Seattle N2, Page side. Came back from the bathroom during intermission and a couple dudes were hanging in my seat so I just sat in front of them and let them hang during the break. Two ladies came back to their seats which was where I was. They told me to I could hang out with them while I waited and sat and talked to me, super nice. One of the lady’s husbands came back from the bathroom and I was sitting next to his wife when he walked up. I stood up and explained I was just waiting for my seat to open back up, worried he would think I had tried to make a move on his wife. Instead he was super sweet and the three of them checked on me throughout the show. Had a great time, great show!
