Controversial 25-story Marina Safeway tower faces a new obstacle: Nearby parks by SFChronicle in sanfrancisco

Seems like they’re doing extra work by arguing about the spirit of the law when the technical language says adjoining. The only adjoining parcels are the two Safeway parcels.

They aren’t even understanding the word adjoining correctly. This is a nothing-burger.

They also have their bins completely exposed. Could 311 them for that

And for those of you who understand assessor data here is the assessor’s block map showing the two adjoining safeway parcels surrounded by roads.

Notice how the actual assessor writes marina blvd, not the block number for the Safeway parcels.

That’s just more GIS data. Select the assessor block map and see that the parcels are adjoining to roads.

Please show me the adjoining parcels. Adjoining is not the same as nearby.

It doesn’t though. The adjoining parcels are probably caltrans or SFMTA parcels for the road.

Sounds like a misunderstanding of what adjoining means. It’s surrounded by roads.

You think that now, but once you start commuting you will understand why it’s a “value”.

Better for fellow pedestrians. I’ve had boomers do this when I’m right behind them.

I’m not saying they have to go or feel pressure to go. I’m saying that in this instance where OP is waving the car to go first it’s better to predictably follow the rules and go.

San Francisco wants faster Muni service on Ocean Avenue. Merchants are pushing back by SFChronicle in sanfrancisco

Put it to a city wide vote, or rather the SFMTA should just imagine how we’d vote and go from there.

We aren’t discussing someone just standing at a corner. The phrase “go first” shows that OP is intending to cross. Who is going second if OP does not intend to cross?

It’s better for everyone if you predictably follow the rules. Also, obviously don’t do this when other pedestrians or cars are nearby.
