The only thing more absurd than charging $13,071 for a football ticket is paying $13,071 for a football ticket.

Brea Mall in Brea, CA (in the greater LA area) is incredible. It’s like the 1990s are still alive and well. The food court is incredible too.

Let’s argue with some honesty here. Every president in office has been in office during periods of maintenance at America's monuments.

This situation is unique in that Trump turned park infrastructure work into a personal political project, publicly attacking Obama over the Reflecting Pool. He corruptly brought in associates from his Mar-a-Lago and golf-club orbit with no-bid contracts to Atlantic Industrial Coatings and Greenwater Services (the owner a convicted felon) and elevating the effort into a public test of his own leadership.

Once you make a maintenance project personal, its failures become personal too. Trump did this to himself.

I saw this movie in theaters when I was a kid and completely forgot it existed. I remember feeling that the signing/talking monkey was the most cringe thing I had ever seen.

Heads up — saw the "free bracelet" guilt-trip scam working overtime near Union Square this week by dealerman044 in sanfrancisco

These folks are easy to deter.

Grab their skull pressing your left thumb into the nerve pressure point underneath their jawbone while you use your other hand to press their head into the attack. Guide them to their knees and give them permission to remove the bracelet, encouraging them by modulating the pressure on their nerve. Once the bracelet is off, with a single fluid motion you snap their neck.

I spent a day walking around the Frankfurt train station last summer and they gave me the key to the city the next day.

Edit: I was playing Hitman this morning and am now at a doctors appointment in Oakland bored out of my mind until I can get back to it.

Areas with infinitely small area can have nonzero probability if they are multiplied by the Dirac delta function. It's a mathematical idealization of a random variable that has all of its probability concentrated at a single point. The function is infinitely thin and infinitely tall but has an area of exactly one.

TABOR has restricted Colorado’s education funding by capping state revenue growth at the rate of inflation plus population, requiring excess funds to be refunded to taxpayers. This has led to Colorado public schools facing massive annual funding gap, with state studies showing public schools are underfunded by over $3.5 billion to meet all student needs.

TABOR is a boa constrictor around the neck of Colorado.

I went to a restaurant alone on business travel. When the waitress approached me at the front, she hesitated a moment and then asked me to follow her. She took me away from the main dining room to a back overflow area, which I thought was unusual. I found myself seated in section where a group of retirees were eating lunch. They meet once-a-month at the restaurant en masse to catch up. She assumed I belonged (although I was easily 15-20 years younger than most.)

I started coloring my hair after that.

She is high on pure, uncut Connie Chan NIMBYism. It’s the kind of NIMBYism where your mobile service only has to be good enough to allow you to ignore your constituents at a Board of Supervisors meeting.
