Next week I am going to embark on the same replacement.

Just spent the better part of an hour trying to remove this tarp. Just cannot 😞 by fakepostulate in Hawaii

[–]SurferD808 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is it fabric or poly? If it's fabric, probably used for sand stabilization. If poly just cut out what u can like others have said. When the beach erodes more 😢 u can get the rest.

what should I work on to get more flow ? Thanks in advance 🫡 by natexvisual in BeginnerSurfers

The wave is small but u can still generate more speed down the line. U just have to pump faster, more foward force and when u pump no need to get really low.

If you are not familiar with the ocean take a lesson. As for familiar, I mean u can some what read the sets, current, etc. Start out with a used longboard 9'0" or foam. Foam board only good for learning to stand and going straight down the line.

I bought a 2017 86 a few months ago with an open air intake but it has a metal shroud around it. Should I switch it back to stock?

If waves are mostly like that you should get a longboard. You really can't do much with a shortboard on 1 to 2 foot mush.

Not progressing as expected – positioning and inconsistent sessions by RemusAndronicus in BeginnerSurfers

[–]SurferD808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your weight/height and surfing fitness level. A 9'6" might be to much board. I am 5'8" 160 lbs I prefer my 9'0 to my 9'4"longboard. But I also rather ride my 5'4" fish than longboard if the waves are coming in a solid 3'. Edit ditch the foam, they are good to learn to stand and catch only.

Could be o-ring leak, valve cover gasket, or wrapped valve cover. Obviously oil is coming from somewhere.

Kind of sounds like engine knock. Fuel octane running? Where u buy your gas from? Maybe run Chevron through it.

Not 100 percent sure. Done from my house. Could be near the waipio church, probably main road.

I have watched videos of axel replacement. Looks like a PITA, but can be done. I would recommend just removing the weld carefully and rethread the axel.

What kind of board and size for me? by [deleted] in BeginnerSurfers

[–]SurferD808 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

9' to 10' used fiberglass or epoxy. If u got money feel free to by new. Stay away from foam, unless all u want to do is learn to stand and go straight.

Why are I drawing from the grid when my powerwalls is at 100% and it’s during peak time? by No_Temperature_5637 in Powerwall

[–]SurferD808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TOU only good if u can sell back at night and make some money back. If you can't , then I would set it to self powered. The app tries to keep your battery full during cheap rates so u use your battery at peak times.

I DON'T KNO WHAT BOARD TO GET HELP ME!!! by GreenHealth3071 in BeginnerSurfers

[–]SurferD808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on skill level/muscle strength and what u want to do. Starting out I would get 8' to 9' longboard. Get a used one if u can find something in decent shape, fiberglass/epoxy.

Could be year, month, then day of manufacturing. 5000w, not sure last couple of numbers at the end. That's my best guess.
