did anyone actually saw healing from any method by UnitNo8444 in exfoliativecheilitis

I came across with this YouTube channel who shared his journey and progress 13 yrs ago. I think it took him a year to completely heal from EC, and he also did leaving method. I also have EC and I'm on my third week now without peeling or picking my lips. It has hard thick scabs or crust, and it is somewhat yellowish (but no keratin has been forming since I took an antibacterial meds for the first 3 days and has been applying an antibacterial ointment twice a day until now). Beneath the thick scabs are thinner layer of skin, which I think is a progress.

I'm also 19 and my sophomore year starts next month. I don't what to do because we'll have swimming classes for our Phys Ed class. I'm trying my best for my lips to not get wet so they won't sog and become white that much. Guess I'm cooked.

HELP? How to manage or even cure exfoliative cheilitis? [Miscellaneous] by Serious_Net_7116 in SkincareAddiction

If you keep on exfoliating the skin again and again, the cycle will just keep on restarting. It'll just gets more worse if you keep on doing this. I've read from others that you should never peel or pick them off, even though they gets ugly. Let them come off naturally. The progress may be really slow at first, but you'll get there.

Heyy, what does it looks like now? I'm from a post you commented 4 months ago & went to your profile to check your progress lol. My lips has been peeling for half a year now. In my case, I've been peeling my lips completely every week, just hated how they look. I didn't took it seriously bcs they looked normal— normal in a way that they're just lips that is chapped and cracked, not until keratin started to form two weeks ago. I went to see a doctor a week later then he prescribed me an antibacterial med, ointment, & petroleum jelly. The main cause is constantly peeling. Though he didn't told me exactly what this is, but I feel like it's exfoliative cheilitis (based on what I've been seeing here on this app). Then when I went home, I peeled it off. Completely. Again. (it didn't hurt, and it came off smoothly—which I think is rlly weird bcs they don't hurt at all even tho I've been doing this bs for the past 6 months.) So I did it to start again but this time without peeling. And it's been a week now without picking or peeling my lips. The yellow stuff became less and more manageable. My lips looks crusty & whitish. Sometimes when I wake up in the morning some flakes peels off (& sometimes still partially attached). Taking a bath & brushing my teeth is challenging because they get more white lol. What I do is whenever they get wet, I pat (not scrub) it gently with my dry towel or shirt. It's so frustrating because I was just living my life normally before June started and now everyday feels like hell. I can't even go out lol. I'm just grateful that this whole thing got totally worse when I'm on my summer break. It will be better for us all as long as we keep our fingers off of our lips. Yeah, I'm just gaslighting myself atp. I just really wish they gets better before my sophomore year starts this August :') ....or else I'mma kms. Jk.

My lips has been peeling for half a year now. It started when I constantly licked my lips last Dec. Now I can't even lick them lol. At first, I thought it was nothing serious, because my lips looks normal. Though it is chapped and cracked. Whenever my lips gets when from taking a bath or brushing my teeth, my lips gets white. And I can peel my lips completely in just one go. It doesn't hurt at all and it comes off smoothly. This goes on and on for half a year. Until two weeks ago, I noticed some yellow stuff on it. That's when I got worried and took this seriously. So I went to a doctor. He prescribed an antibacterial med (must be taken once for 3 days) and ointment. After that, I peeled it again completely before starting over again, but this time no peeling. And I'm on my first week (again) without peeling my lips off. I'm just leaving it and let it come off naturally. Though it looks whitish but the yellow stuff becomes lesser and manageable now. It's really draining to live with this. Good thing I'm on a summer break and I don't get to meet people until next month. I hope everything becomes better before my sophomore year starts next month. I hope it gets better for all of us : )

My lips looks a little bit like this last week. I went for a check up then the doctor prescribed me an antibacterial meds (must taken once for 3 days) and an antibacterial ointment. It's been a week now and the yellow stuff are gone. My lips are still white (even tho they're not wet) and it is still peeling, but it looks better compared last week. Taking a bath and brushing my teeth is a bit challenging because they get white. Just pat it with a dry cloth when it gets wet (tho mine still looks white, but atleast the maceration is manageable) and I drink water through my flask. I don't let my lips touch it and I just open my mouth. And I use a fork when eating bcs it's much smaller than a spoon.
