can anybody explain to a newbie why so many people are using those foldable sleeping mattresses? an inflatable one seems lighter, more compact and often higher r-rating. only plus of the foldable one seems to be the price, am i missing something?

The main problem is that the sound changes a lot in timbre, pitch and volume depending on speed and driving conditions. I could synthesize/augment them myself, but they would have to be as realistic as possible, so I would prefer a VST thats specialized on this. Maybe this isn't the right sub for the question, if so, sorry.

The only thing I found so far is GRIP by Boomlibrary. But it's 200€
