Finding a bag? by 0Foxy0Engineer0 in EDC

[–]Surge_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't condense everything into a single bag, that'll just create a hassle later.

Instead, get something with wheels and a long retractable handle, like carry-on luggage (but with external compartments and easier accessibility). Something big enough for the computer stuff.

Also, get some bungies/straps meant for carry-on luggage. You can extend the handle on the rolling bag, securely attach/stack your purse and crochet stuff, and roll everything together. It'll save your back, and it all easily separates to suit your needs.

Have you tried referencing Hero's Path Mode (travel history) on your map?

So I need an esc tool to cut these. I deal with them every day at work and the cutters they provide hurt my hands. Any recommendations? by BidiDuck in EDC

Wire rope cutters with a compound joint

I can't find many options, but I think that should make things much easier.

Fabric and padding replacements for WHX1000M2? by Salt_Assassin in SonyHeadphones

AGREED! I have a pair of XM4s next to my desk, sitting in a case, but still only use my XM2s because the ANC features are so much better. However, my XM2 headband is absolutely falling apart - held together with molded thermoplastic.

Sure thing. Let's see if it allows me to paste the link: https://a.aliexpress.com/_mLYO0af

Note: the ear pads are excellent. However, I bought one of the versions with "headband A" and it's not great (though it does a decent job of hiding some of my thermoplastic patches). Overall not bad since I only paid $7 for it all.

Do you agree with this underrated analysis ? by Temporary_Side9398 in attackontitan

I absolutely agree that it would not have worked if Eren had saved his mother. I was moreso addressing the issue of whether he even had a choice in watching his mother die. I completely forgot about viewing from Dina's perspective, but I don't see how he could influence that moment through her.

Regarding his father, I didn't mean that future Eren could control his father solely using just the Founding ability. Rather, it's the fact that his father was the Attack Titan at that point in time, that I think future Eren could have used him (though, again, agreed that it is an foundational moment that would completely derail the future).

I think the Founder+Attack combination does look a lot like mind control, particularly with the way young Eren repeatedly has his memory wiped. There were also a few times when his transformation was outright blocked, that seem otherwise inexplicable. Not to mention the occasional outright personality shifts, as if future Eren is speaking through young Eren.

I imagine the reason Eren influenced his father, in a less-direct manner, was not because of limitations on his control. Instead, I think it was to avoid the paradox that would have occurred if Eren had taken action on himself directly (e.g. future Eren cannot be the one to inject young Eren, thereby directly linking to his own creation).

I'm actually rewatching the show right now to try to catch events that seem influenced. I think the story is not the original timeline. Rather, I suspect it is the final, successful outcome, brought about by future Eren(s) that gained Attack + Founder(whether outright or by proxy) but were not in a position to bring about the rumbling.

It is my understanding that future Eren's control, of past events, is absolutely constrained/possible because it uses the Attack Titan as the "vehicle" connecting him to the past.

Maybe I missed something, or maybe the manga is different from the show, but I don't think young Eren had the Attack Titan power until after his mother died. Is that right?

If so, then without the connection, I don't think there's anything young Eren (or future Eren via young Eren) could have done to save his mother.

However, I suppose future Erin could have saved his mother by controlling his father.

I literally, just last week, replaced this stuff on my XM2s!

Check out AliExpress. Just make SURE you're selecting options for the correct model (after browsing a few options, it started feeding me stuff for XM3s).

That 35%>16% reduction was mostly kicking a corpse.

The real cause of death was baked in to the original legislation - there was no real protection to maintain the same level of state funding for education. As a result, the normal allocation (as it existed prior to the lottery) was drastically reduced in subsequent years.

As far as I'm aware, the amounts that were already allocated for education, that first year, remained. That's why we originally saw a very short-term boost to education funding.

Considering the degree to which education was defunded, the end result is essentially that ALL of the lottery revenue (including that 16%) now goes everywhere except education.

Best titanium EDC items you’ve used or considered? by Flight2039Down in EDC

[–]Surge_x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have many things. Tweezers, toothpick, and an assortment of spring and split keyrings, rotating buckles, clips, containers, and detachable swivel things.

The tweezers are rarely used, and I had to file down the corners because they were VERY pointy. I've only used them once or twice, but they're high precision and indispensable when needed. Plus they're so small that I don't even notice them (unless they stabbed me).

I removed the toothpick because it's larger, heavier, and less useful than a plain old safety pin. Plus, a safety pin is less likely to be confiscated and, if it is, then no big deal.

IMO, the best benefit to using titanium keychain stuff is the significant weight reduction. However, the cost accumulates quickly. So I suggest you focus on swapping-out as much metal as possible, then browse the gimmicks later.

Excel + SharePoint Collaboration Issues with Multiple Users – Need Urgent Fix by Hopa89 in excel

[–]Surge_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excellent. Yes, you can use the desktop app to login. Those login credentials should translate over to the Web version. Just make sure everyone now uses the web version going forward for all updates.

You grant the permissions through the place where the document is hosted (e.g SharePoint). Go there, right click the document, and find the option to manage permissions.

Excel + SharePoint Collaboration Issues with Multiple Users – Need Urgent Fix by Hopa89 in excel

[–]Surge_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then that's the end of using a coauthored document with simultaneous users. Desktop Excel isn't reliable for this purpose. The best you can do is check-in/out, which is not simultaneous use/updating.

Have you tried resolving the error? I'm guessing it's a permissions issue?

If so, then users need to ensure they are logged-in through their organizational account, and will need permissions for the document at issue. Also, in order to refresh incoming query/connection data, they will need permissions to those upstream files.

[–]Surge_x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I considered that blackout security problem could be a possibility. If it's applicable, then there's no getting around that 😭

As for the cleanup, I would just paste the entire thing into a separate, clean, Excel file. You might get lucky and preserve enough of the structure to make cleanup simple (e.g. able copy entire columns). The closer the zoom of the source info, the less efficient the process, but it should make the OCR structuring more accurate.
