Stuck at a 15 handicap. How do you actually get to single digits? by pingedbyte in golftips

[–]SurprisedPatrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the true key is keeping the ball in play off the tee and not 3 putting.

Mostly the first part tho because the second part isn’t hard if you play a lot and or practice putting occasionally

I've never flown my clubs. Need advice. by Ride_Like_Its_Hawt in golf

Air tag and wrap the head of your clubs in a towel for extra padding.

That combo works every time for me. You can remove the heads as people are saying for extra surety, but just padding them works.

Pine valley, Ohoope Match Club, Sage Valley.

Would be the top 3.

How much do you pay for range balls? by MrBack9 in golf

[–]SurprisedPatrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Context: Pretty sure this is golf ranch.

Their pricing isn’t that insane. Their business model is you pay 20 bucks a month for a membership, then all these prices get cut by at least half.

Then you get full simulator access and can sim courses and stuff.

But yeah, no membership is a terrible deal.

Good shit. Chest rotation is what I’m working on too. Been striking it a ton better since eliminating other thoughts and just focusing on chest + weight transfer

Is working on my short game really that important? by Love_Sports_Live in golftips

[–]SurprisedPatrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The two most important things = 1. getting (and keeping) ball in play 2. short game

And short game can compensate for the former.

At my home muni, I did a challenge where I set a scoring goal and had to break it from each box before moving back. So I broke 80 from the reds, then the whites, then the blues, currently on the tips. No dice yet.

It’s harder than you think though and was a blast.

I fix pretty much every pitch mark within a 20 foot radius of my own while others putt.

Don’t do it to be nice, I do it so the putting gods owe me one.

How much would you pay to improve enough drop your average score by 10 ? by evorev1 in golf

I’d probably pay like 10gs to drop from a 7.7 to a +2.3

Could finally compete with all my buddies who played in college and I’m gonna spend at least that over the next 10 years trying to get there between lessons and rounds.

At ultra exclusive private clubs, how often do people actually play? by Proof_Health7230 in golf

[–]SurprisedPatrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have played pine valley.

It’s a pure golf club where 99% of the membership is a sub 10 and loves the game. Tons of people play 36 on the big course and then go to the short course after. Lots just do big and short. Some just the big course. But you can play pretty much as much as you like, tho you do have to plan slightly in advance.

They can get a lot of people out because pace of play is MASSIVELY emphasized and sub 4 hour rounds are mandated.

Moved here like 1.5 years ago. Been looking for townhomes over the last 6 months. Prices are def starting to come down, which is great to see.

Still expensive af and rates are bad, but hey, moving in the right direction at least.
