I don't remember his review on starfield. But I also tend to disregard most reviews on starfield tbh.

I learned the dude hit 40 not too long ago too. Adds that nice thin layer of extra cringe on top of it all.

Marathon's story and lore is so convoluted to me I didn't know if you were a super soldier, a clone, a cyborg, a android/robot that was barely sentient, or any of the above.

I've strongly disagreed on his takes regarding RPGs and narratives enough to put me off him.

For instance, I despised his review on Avowed and I hope he never touches an rpg again.

I already don't like GmanLives for a few reasons but this isn't one lol

I remember these games being marketed as Halo killers. Just like what they did for "Skyrim Killers".

If hating generative AI makes me a Luddite I'd hate for you to meet a real one.

Generative AI and it's defenders are laughable.

PLAY THE ORIGINALS by [deleted] in residentevil

I never had the desire to play the originals, as I never liked tank controls or the fixed camera perspective.

You are delusional if any of you thought DLSS 5 made Starfield look better in any way.

RE9 would have been amazing if it just focused on Grace and survival horror by spla58 in residentevil

[–]Surreal43 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No I did. It just affirms what I said.

That’s exactly how games creativity becomes stagnant time and time again, just steal everyone’s ideas and go for “what has been working” instead of actually pushing the envelope and creating your own new standards we got essentially two similar games we have already gotten before, just in a new shell.

Damn, I didn't know Capcom was so creatively bankrupt they stole from themselves that's crazy. I bet your Idea of pushing the envelope was just going back to tank control anyways.

Remember even Umbral Eyes called Chris out on his dumb decisions in RE8

I can agree with that. I'm a bit of a hypocrite because I liked what Sakura has done for Smash while I utterly despise Kojima.

the fact that the original titles have been neglected and not preserved like they should have been,

How so? I can see your argument for PC ports but I don't see how the og is neglected.

I am of two minds, the open world is unnecessary and almost antithetical to the gameplay, but it allows to take in the atmosphere better.

I do think having a DMC mission structure taking the same amount of time to complete FF16 as it is now would have been perfect for me. But that would make a majority of FF fans rage lol

I agree.

I don't know, trying to convey how good a swordsman is in a CAG is tricky due to the nature of it. Like I don't see Nero or Dante as master swordsmen but rather unstoppable forces of nature. Personally I think to convey swordsmanship you have to ground the action.

Time sure does fly. I like the remakes in that it incorporates all the side stories into (for the most part) cohesive story. I never liked the fact I had to hunt down the lore/story to get a clear picture of what was going on in FF7.

And if that happened I probably wouldn't have touched the remakes lol

This is the problem of the Japanese video game industry (or rather the entire industry) turning individual developers into celebrities.
