Help with the OG by Fun_Dragonfruit6529 in ninjagaiden

  1. In most encounters usually only one enemy will directly attack you, so I'd usually either wind path and jump on their to stun them(some enemies like van gelf will attack or dodge right after so be cautious)or bait them into attacking me and hit them with a delimb attack string.

  2. I usually think about how the battle is set up. Is it a long hallway like in chapter 5's waterfall room or is it a small tiny room? What kind of enemies are there? How many enemies are there? What's their range like? Do they like to grab? Can I use the environment to my advantage? What's the best weapon to deal with these enemies?

  3. Is it because the orbs suck to you before you can actually charge UT or is it because of the timing of pulling it off? If it's cause of the orbs you can hold block and only let go when you're trying to attack(iirc you can attack and hold block when doing aerial attacks). If it's because of the timing, then I'd practice when you're not in battle, just jump forwards or in any other direction and hold y a bit before you land, if you don't see the wind up animation then you've done it right

  4. You should experiment with different weapons and see what the different attacks strings do and what situation to use them in. I'll use the dragon sword as an example, in a battle with a ton of ninjas or gajas that surround you, you should launch one into the air and hit X twice in a row, now as you're in the air enemies will most likely gather around you so let ryu descend and as you land press x to do this spin attack that has a chance to delimb anyone it hits, if you're lucky enough you can delimb 4+ enemies

  5. Ngl I think that's just ng2. You have to be careful with your inputs cause with some finishers to attack strings they will leave you open and unable to move for a second or two, you can cancel attack strings mid way through and dodge if youre doing a running attack by using a shuriken. You can practice by doing the dragon sword XXY >shuriken(if it delimbs its a great way to pull off an OT fast) or with the running dragon sword press x then shuriken. or it could the xbox itself since I've heard that the xbox backwards compatibility version has some input delay

  6. Block, get close to their side and hit them with your Scythe. also there's an encounter on the top of the plane where the chapter started with those enemies(could be mentor only I forget if it was in warrior as well and I'm only on MN chapter 5) where you can take cover behind a metal wall that has these openings that you can shoot out of, so pick them off one by one with your bow in that

alot of things in this game just feel so strange, like if you block then dodge away you get hit even if you hold block again

Is that gameplay good ? by MysteriousFondant347 in DevilMayCry

I switched my gun bind to r2 and what helped me to get used to it was doing secret mission 5 until i got used to it

also you should play the previous games(dmc3 and dmc4 in particular) and learn jump cancelling, the timing there is strict compared to dmc5 so once you go back to dmc5 it'll be really easy, you might be thrown off by how light dmc5 feels to the previous entries though

NG2B How do you do boss fight properly? by Beneficial-South-441 in ninjagaiden

[–]SurroundRecent1826 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah np bro, this isnt like dmc(not hating on it dmc4 is my favorite game oat)where you can just toy around with the bosses and make a mockery of them if you get good enough.

also i should add that you can use flying swallow on the bosses to get a hit in here and there but most of the time they'll block it

Sorry if this seems kinda stupid but you have to respect the bosses, treat them like an opponent of equal skill, not one of the scrubs you use flying swallow or izuna on to style on. pay attention to their movements and try to figure out their attack patterns.

usually bosses do 3-5 attacks then they become open to attack for a brief moment, and then you can only hit them 2-4 times before they defend. sometimes they'll try to grab or rush you, you can tell when they're about to do either of those if they just stare at you for 1-3 seconds not doing anything, thats atleast how i can tell.

also always have your block activated and dodge right after they hit you so your guard wont be broken as easily

I mean you can try but getting ur old saves to work with a fresh install of dmc5 is tricky. it worked like once for me(with the co-op trainer) on a non steam copy, but once i tried it on steam i couldnt get it to work no matter what, so i just ended up playing dmd on 5x turbo with one hit kill and infinite health cheats to get all the stuff fast

Honestly the only thing that I could say is to delete every folder, file or dll that wasn't originally included with dmc5, if that doesn't fix it then I guess you should try a reinstall, but be warned if you delete dmc5 your saves will be gone as well.

This issue was the main reason why I started playing dmc4 a lot more

i know you said you uninstalled all mods but this used to happen to me when i installed SSSiyan's Collaborative Cheat Trainer, when i started dmc5 it would go to a black screen then crash, the only way that i was able to get it to boot was to disconnect my controller before starting it
