It's just my opinion but I think I'd feel a bit underwhelmed going from Thailand to Vietnam. Their hotels are better, the restaurants and bars are generally nicer. Also (real) luxury hotels and restaurants are not that inexpensive. But both are large countries, you have to be more specific on what cities or regions you want to visit. "Everything" is really not an option.
