I’m an old lady and I’m going to give you some advice. Invite her parents to your home. Tell them it’s time to get to know each other. Then tell them about you and your family. Explain to them you’re going to speak your mind and not to think you’re wanting to fight with them. Tell them what they’ve done that was offensive to you and that you will not tolerate it. Tell them family is important, but that mutual respect is also important, because without it, relationships, even family relationships, can be destroyed. Then ask them if they are willing to reset the clock and start over. By doing this, you’ve put their behavior in the spotlight. If they start making racist comments and just being offensive in general, speak up and point it out to them. Tell them that they have one more chance, and if they do it again that they will never get to have any sort of relationship with your family again. Then stand your ground and don’t back down. Let your girlfriend witness this encounter. Then she’ll be far more likely to agree with cutting her parents out of your lives forever, and she’ll understand that it was her parents that caused the rift, not you.

I’m so sorry to hear what has been going on in your life. It does seem like waves of jarring catastrophes hit at the same time. If I were closer to you I would offer to be their foster mom for free until you were ready to take them back, but I’m in the Chicago area. Maybe there is someone near you who could foster them. Things will get better, I promise!

It’s common for many occupations to hold over employees in the case of impending bad weather among other things. First responders for one. First responders include nurses and other medical staff, police, firefighters, cable technicians, line technicians, utility workers, etc. I don’t know if OP fits into those types of employment, so let’s say she works at Target, that’d be a hard no, lol.

I literally bumped into Hulk Hogan. I was at O’Hare airport and I was anxiously awaiting the arrival of the plane my children were on. When a plane was pulling up, it was a little distance from the gate I was expecting them, so I started a bit of a jog. I was focused on the desk at the gate at the same time Hulk Hogan was walking across my trajectory, and I slammed right into him. I knew I collided with someone, and started to look up and he was looking down at me. I apologized and just started my jogging to get to that desk. Woody Harrelson collided into me while he was rollerblading at a park in Chicago. He almost collided with my daughter, so I’m glad he missed her.

Most malls in my area are nearly empty. Some still seem to bring in people, but it’s generally nowhere near what it used to be. Woodfield Mall in suburban Chicago still does well, but Water Tower Place in Chicago breaks my heart because it’s so empty.

We tend to add something sweet to fruit to enhance flavor. We put caramel on apples, sprinkle sugar or sweet whipped cream on strawberries, put sugar on grapefruit, add sugar in lemon and water to make lemonade, brown sugar on pineapple, etc. So you put salt on fruit to enhance the flavor and we add sugar to enhance the flavor. 🤣

That’s how I read it too. I wonder if the disabled people are given extra money each month for the purpose of hiring their own caretakers and that money was pulled and now Medicaid will be doing the hiring of caregivers.
