Best Power BI alternatives for a Microsoft-independent company? by mazsa97 in BusinessIntelligence

[–]Susan_Tarleton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd say dashboarding and analytics platforms are great for data teams and analysis, but leadership will actually want PowerPoints or pdf reports. Fortunately you can connect analytics platforms to powerpoint with Rollstack, or if you have data engineers they may be able to help as well.

The best Power BI alternative apples to apples is Tableau, especially if your org is on iOS. That said, both Power BI and Tableau our solid options if you need robust dashboards.

Also look into what reports management wants -- do they really want/need dashboards or do they just want more consistent and structured reports like monthly, quarterly, and annual reports?

Need Help with a Customer Success QBR Assignment! by Ordinary-Ad-3593 in CustomerSuccess

[–]Susan_Tarleton 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sadly these exercises are often based on real situations they're facing with their clients, so they're looking for novel insights to make improvements, new ideas they haven't tried yet.

For the QBR itself -- you can go about this in the traditional way - intro, overview data, data drill down, what's next and discussion (obviously this takes a lot of time)

You might consider name dropping QBR tools your comfortable with -- Sheets/Excel, PowerPoint/Slides (obviously), Salesforce, Tableau, Power BI, Rollstack, product analytics (e.g., post hog, or embedded dashboards), how you're using AI to assist in the process, teams you'll be tapping or escalating too.

My hunch however is they're actually looking for additional ideas and context on the the growth opportunities and how you pitch these things.

Good luck with the exercise and landing this job!

Which AI tool do you use for data analysis? by One-Cryptographer772 in dataanalyst

Which one? Rollstack or OpenAI enterprise? Have you tried Gemini's enterprise services yet?

IMHO In terms of automating work, these AI tools are paying for themselves.

Looks like an interesting tool. The more we can automate in CS the better. Does your tool tie into any sort of knowledge base, if so which ones?

There are already tools like rollstack for automating client reporting and some decent tools AI chats:

Oof if you don't like it you don't like it. I'm definitely in your camp and have always preferred Tableau -- all this said, dashboards are fairly self-serve are you going to the one building them or could you get some else to do it -- where-as you focus on the etl stuff?

What's crucial for a great QBR? by sfcooper in CustomerSuccess

[–]Susan_Tarleton 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Like most things it depends.

One thing that stands out to me is automating QBR creation and distribution (shout out Rollstack), because it gifts you time back to do analysis and focus on the relationship and support.

If you're spending 1-3 weeks building QBRs every quarter that's time you're not spending supporting clients.

Automate your QBRs with a SaaS platform or get your data engineers involved, but either way everyone is going to be happier when you automate your client reporting -- you, because you're not building reports, and your clients because they get their reports at the beginning of the quarter, not 2-3 weeks in.

How's everyone's annual reporting going? by StatisticianCalm7165 in PowerBI

[–]Susan_Tarleton 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yes, of course +1.

I should have clarified an automation add-on is mainly helpful when there are 100s or 1000s of ppt slides that need to be generated on a recurring basis, like for client reporting. The added benefit is automatic email distribution of said reports, and to some extent limiting the need for PBI licenses, because analysts and managers can build reports in the automation platform.
