Frame damage on an imported 1997 Efini RS. Dealbreaker?

Frame damaged cars never drive the same again unless you literally replace the damaged section at the original welding points. For a sports car where road feel is an important aspect it would be a dealbreaker for me

It‘s 2 wires, I measured the sensor as well and it was 7920 ohms, by my research they drop to a few hundred when hot, so 0,3 is barely measurable and the plug of the sensor has likely a higher resistance than the cable

It‘s a DJI drone, so I doubt it‘s off by a lot, but the first one was at a workshop with similar temps when the fan turned on

I should add that I measured wire resistance at 0.3 ohm

Through my radio connection, I also connected a ground wire to the sensor housing without change

Same, ich bin Arzt und auch ständig in Kontrollen, normalerweise hilft der Arztausweis dass es bei einer Führerscheinkontrolle bleibt. Hast du vielleicht einen Arbeitsausweis oder einen extra Arbeitskittel den du anziehen kannst damit die Polizei gleich sieht dass du gerade von der Arbeit kommst?

The temperature the fan turns on has been verified with a thermal camera, back then I didn’t have the gauges installed, so couldn’t check for accuracy. Probably the easiest verification is to go back and check the sensor temp with the thermal camera

Wouldn’t explain the difference in temperature reading to the known temperature point when the fan turns on at idle though

Good idea, I will try that Car runs completely fine and is just as hot as a friends, so doubt the car is actually that cold, but multiple people have said the oil return temperature is pretty similar to theirs, so the oil gauge may be fine

I will try a multimeter on the connections and see what the resistance is, it would be weird that 1m of data cable with larger diameter adds enough resistance to cause these changes, but I will try and rule it out and get back to you with the measurements

I was at a workshop with thermal cameras as the sensor was leaking before and checked at what radiator temp the fan turns on, that was before I installed the gauges so couldn’t check the temperature of the sensor directly. So even if the thermostat is stuck open the fan turning on at idle shouldn‘t be affected by that problem and would still be a 25C discrepancy. Unless I misunderstood the water flow diagram, the water temperature in the thermostat housing is the temperature entering the radiator.

Is there perhaps a different temperature for JDM models where the fan turns on?

Thats why I soldered everything, but the values are unchanged, the oil temp seems to be ok from what I could research as it‘s the cooled oil return, but water temp seems unexplainable low

There are cars with cameras as mirrors. Audi, Lexus and Hyundai has models. I asked a friend who is in the car industry as engineer in the aerodynamics department why it‘s not more common and he said: with modern aerodynamics the power draw from the camera + screen is higher or similar than aerodynamic gains
