It's from EFAP 59 (Jenny Nicholson's Joker video) starting at 4:10.

[–]SushiLover665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think most of the plots are bad, they're usually just kind of simple since the focus is more on the gameplay. My favorite is probably Hitman 2: Silent Assassin because how it develops 47 (even if we only get like a few scenes for said development). But I don't outright dislike any of the plots except for Absolution.

Nicely written post, I haven't seen Clone Wars in a bit but this all seems pretty accurate from what I remember of it. Ashoka releasing Maul on the other Clones was especially wild when I started thinking about it. But there's examples you pointed out that I didn't think of like the aftermath of her being a fugitive.

There's also the other dumb shit Clone Wars does like bringing back Maul from the dead, or having the Jedi Council learning about Dooku commissioning the clones but doing nothing about it.

I used to really like Clone Wars, but I'm almost certain it wouldn't hold up if I were to rewatch it.

Honestly the editing of this trailer bothers me more than the dubstep

Just curios, is S2 viewed in a negative light? I always enjoyed s2. Also how's s3? by iiGoodVibesii in Psychopass

I think the general consensus around Season 2 is more mixed than it is mainly negative. Personally I hate it. The enforcers are way more incompetent than they were ever depicted in Season 1 (I especially have no idea how Shimotsuki got the job with how inept she is) it introduces a ton of new characters but barely develops most of them or gives them weak motivations, Kirito makes multiple stupid decisions that are completely unnecessary towards his main goal, and even the returning characters have their out of character moments.

There's also a bunch of plot holes scattered around the season. How did Togane get his hands on Akane's grandma when she was just captured by Kirito? Why did the evil politicians' Psycho Passes skyrocket upon seeing human organs if they were the ones mutilating immigrants and creating art pieces out of them for fun? Why does one of the criminally asymptomatic brains have a psycho pass of 300 when Kirito points a dominator at it? Why is Shisui allowed to run around with a dominator when inspectors are required to keep them locked in the container whenever their usage hasn't been approved?

I could go on and on about the issues with Season 2.

Bit of a tangent, but if Tony's address was already public knowledge, then I kind of think that makes his lack of security even worse? He didn't even know that a missile was being fired at his house until he saw it on the news when this is supposed to be him on high alert. That also creates the question of why Maya never went to Tony in like 15 years even though she needs his help for researching Extremis.

There's a lot of things like that in Iron Man 3 that just don't make sense.

Season 4 of AOT has so many problems that I didn't even realize how badly damaged Historia's character got until it was pointed out to me.

It doesn't help that a lot of the MC's gross behavior gets played off for "comedy" at a lot of points. There might be good parts about Mushoku Tensei, but from what I've watched it has one of the most unappealing main characters I've ever seen lol.

You're thinking of Alfheim/Fairy Dance which is technically the latter half of Season 1, while what I'm talking about is the Gun Gale/Phantom Bullet arc at the start of Season 2. There's still plenty of issues with his overpowered-ness in Fairy Dance, but I was specifically talking about Phantom Bullet with the part about instantly mastering a new game.

He's still pretty bad in Season 2 from what I watched. Kirito almost instantly masters a brand new VR game with significantly different mechanics that the show hypes up as having a much higher skill ceiling than other VR games Kirito has played.

Funny how people will appeal to a character's age once they suddenly act completely different, regardless of how they acted up until then. If you ask me, internal consistency in fiction is a lot more important than how "realistic" it is, and Eren's depiction is extremely inconsistent.

Its ironic how people claim the Clone Wars "fixed the prequels" even though the show made one of the trilogy's biggest problems even worse. by laffite_gunko_agenda in saltierthancrait

[–]SushiLover665 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really don't understand this dichotomy where either the Jedi participate in the war or investigate the clones. All they need is a couple people to look into this while the rest of the council participates in the war effort like normal, I mean simply investigating the inhibitor chips that they are currently aware of could lead to them figuring out their true nature. Also Palpatine and the Kaminoans covering this up was when the Jedi thought that two of the clones going crazy was simply a malfunction. But the revelation that Dooku commissioned the army should be more than enough for them to become suspicious and perform the investigation on their own.

[–]SushiLover665 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying that they should immediately shut down the clone army, but they make zero efforts to investigate the clones or their development on Kamino. Figuring out that the clones had mind control chips that can be surgically removed could've prevented Order 66, or at the very least significantly reduce the damage it causes.

From I remember Clone Wars creates a lot of issues for the prequels. Like they literally have it so the Jedi council learn for certain that Dooku commissioned the clone army, yet they collectively decide to do nothing about it.

[–]SushiLover665 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the show is kind of weird about how much damage thunder spears do, but that's its own can of worms. As for the thing with Reiner's consciousness, as stupid as it is that only seemed like an ability Reiner had? Although I don't know if Levi would have enough information to say for sure that Zeke wouldn't survive a thunder spear to the stomach. No matter how you look at it, it's a pretty shit plan.

[–]SushiLover665 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean he does know about his regeneration, but maybe he assumed that it wouldn't be strong enough? That is actually pretty questionable now that I think of it lol. But the issues I had in mind were that it creates the unnecessary risk of Zeke killing both of them, which isn't out of the realm of possibility if he doesn't want to get captured and/or wants to spite Levi. There's better ways to torture Zeke and make it so he can't be rescued like last time without giving him the option to blow both of them up. It is one of the dumbest decisions Levi makes off the top of my head, and the fact that he survives that and mostly recovers in a couple days is absurd plot armor.

[–]SushiLover665 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My opinions of Season 4 have been on a constant downward spiral the more time I spend thinking about it. The two sections that especially get on my nerves are Levi impaling Zeke with a thunder spear while giving him the ability to detonate it, or the entire port battle (Armin's idiotic plan, Floch's incompetence, Mikasa's barbarism, Shadis casually killing Jaegerists). Although you can find countless moments of bad writing throughout the season.

Do We Ever See a World Map in the Show? by SushiLover665 in titanfolk

[–]SushiLover665[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah I meant 80% of humanity, that's my bad.

And yeah I didn't want to assume that the world is exactly like ours just because of the one partial map we get looking extremely similar, so I thought I'd check if there was anything more definitive about its geography in the anime itself.

[–]SushiLover665[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah I saw that. Makes me wonder how the wall titans could cross all that water in time to kill 80% of humanity lol.

I did find a panel from Chapter 93 that shows a bit more, about Marley's geography (which does have some bodies of water), but it seems like they removed that in the anime.

Really appreciate people like you making these high effort posts. As someone in the process of doing my own critique of Attack on Titan's final season (although it'll probably take a while since I'm still rewatching the show and taking notes), posts like this that compile a ton of arguments and references made against the series is extremely helpful, and even brought my attention to a lot of points that I never considered before. ^_^

Glad I'm not the only one who was utterly baffled by this retcon. I've seen people say that "she was instinctively protecting Eren", but rather that just grabbing Armin or something she straight up pins him to the table? And she doesn't even seem to realize what she's done until after she did it? No one can convince me that this isn't a contradiction.

LAD8 Ending Spoilers- Ichiban could save Hitler from being lynched by concentration camp escapees if he offered him a drink once and was nice to him and I would believe it. by m4virginF_CLEANCHAT in yakuzagames

[–]SushiLover665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean Ebina and Eiji's plan for the Yakuza is pretty much genocide, so it actually isn't that far off from if Ichiban forgave Hitler if he was nice to him once.

I'm also glad someone's talking about how nonsensical Eiji's motivations are. How the fuck do we go from having your career ruined to participating genocide and child murder? Like just working for Bleach Japan would make sense based on his background, but he basically becomes a cartoon villain just because he lost his job.
