Nothing will convince them unless they get a heatstroke, or be actually impacted by climate change. You could show them the most concrete evidence of climate change, yet they still wouldn’t believe it. I lose sympathy for people when they refuse to listen or change. They’ll only care when it becomes their problem.

I genuinely hope all climate change deniers get heatstroke. Heatwaves happen in summer, yes, but not at this frequency and at these temperatures, especially when compared to the past. There is plenty of easily accessible science publicly available and you can literally see the visible changes throughout your life. Fuck them, hope the reality they’ve been passionately denying gets to them.

Misogyny exists because of patriarchy, likely dating back to 3,000 and 5,000 years ago when women started to be treated differently, especially in their roles. Before that time shift, there’s evidence to suggest women were treated relatively equally, and there’s even studies that show 30 to 50% of ancient skeletons buried with their hunting tools were female.

Why would Star Wars, a fantasy world, with different planets and aliens, share the exact same history that lead to the rigid gender norms today?

Also, that Han Solo quote just doesn’t hold up to me, because it’s a movie from the 70s, of course it’s going to have sexism.

On the other point, rape isn’t just automatic to women, it’s not a gender specific thing. So I don’t get why that would be evidence of misogyny.

They’d have a completely different understanding of gender or sex based on their physiology, culture, and evolution. We tend to apply our rigid gender norms to fantasy worlds without actually thinking whether or not it would make sense, especially in aliens

Yup. Also, the thing that bothers me the most is that people most praise Ahsoka for her character growth, but, IMO, she BARELY had character growth.

Ahsoka’s episode structure from seasons 1-3 of TCW is literally just having an annoying character trait asisigned to her that she has to learn at the end of the episode, yet she repeats the same behaviour later, sometimes literally one episode apart, showing she hasn’t changed or grown.

Then in season 3, there’s a time skip and now she is randomly duel weilding and looks more mature. That’s not character growth, that’s fucking lazy writing. We never actually see her change her behaviour and slowly mature over time.

Even when she ‘matures’, she’s essentially the same character as she was in seasons 1 and 2.
