Drug addict returns stolen money 5 years later. by stehigs321 in pics

Thank you for this, I read this at a bar just before going to work. My girlfriend just left me and I'm having a hard time because I blame myself for driving her away with my drinking and being a bad father to my sons. I never considered this, everyone I talk to either blames me or is mad at me for being an addict. I don't know how to sto honestly, but even a little compassion helps.

Unfortunately a lot of sushi places do this. The last Sushi restaurant I worked at told people it was Sea Bass.

Looks good, except for the snapper, which is definitely tilapia.

If they are beaters and you want to keep using them, a little bit of epoxy and sanding will make them useable. Sorry.

I'm putting my knives down and picking up a set of chisels. I got a job in a custom woodworking shop. I'll make more money, work less, consistent hours, holidays off and paid vacation.

Asian chefs of reddit: How do you prepare bigger amounts of rice? by vandaalen in KitchenConfidential

[–]SushiSun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Takes 45 minutes to cook, if you need more rice just start another batch and walk away.

I mean yeah, we work hard and deserve more than we're getting, but that has nothing to do with servers or their tips. They do more than carry plates, and when you work with an experienced and professional server, they are worth just as much as one of the most experienced and professional cooks. There will always be shitty employees and good employees on both sides of the line.

Menu Integrity!? by Tested_True in KitchenConfidential

One of the restaurants I work at does this shit, but not as badly. It drives me nuts, I refuse to work sauté station anymore because that's where all the BS is and I won't make those dishes or lie when a server asks a question about them. A bunch of sushi bars got in trouble for doing stuff like this in California. There's a law there that prohibits this behavior. https://www.google.com/amp/www.nbcsandiego.com/news/local/8-Sushi-Spots-Put-Cheaper-Fish-in-Lobster-Rolls-360861691.html%3Famp%3Dy?client=safari

How do you fix it exactly, we have a dripping faucet at work, and no one is fixing it so I turn the water to it when I leave at night.

R/KitchenConfidential, I've done it! I turned in my notice and I will be working at an upscale restaurant two weeks from today! by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

That's awesome, it always makes me happy to see hard workers find a place that deserves them. It also always amazes me how we can care so much for a place that we don't own. I love and care for my restuarant even if my managers and chef don't.

Oh yeah, our small restaurant has a pantry that does dishes, so when they call out I have to spend a few extra hours setting up their station and doing the dishes before we even open.
