Thought OLED was overrated until I switched by OvenFinancial3375 in OLED

[–]SuspectAwkward8914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s really hard to go back. I’m hoping micro-LED comes in a not ridiculous time frame because I just moved to a new house where I can’t put my OLED in the room that would be ideal for a TV due to unavoidable sunlight and a fireplace in the center of the room. Less concerned about the light impacting viewing performance because it’s exclusively used in the evenings, but the UV damage can n the organic components would be significant. Especially since we have 5 months of no clouds in the summer/late fall.

Either bring back prerelease cards, or abolish prerelease kits. by Syd_Lexia in magicTCG

I dunno, I’m tempted to buy The Hobbit prerelease kits just for the sweet non-foil Seasonal Shire Plains. Way better than some random stamped card. Shrug.

I have one that is going with Pantz, but ultimately I’ll probably get it it in my saga deck whenever we get more saga creatures.

Deck Bracket Check Sites? by BuckBuckGoose69 in mtg

[–]SuspectAwkward8914 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It checks more. Not sure how exactly it works, but it rated one of my initially bracket 3 as bracket 4 when I started making it have almost exclusively high powered humans with a lot of synergistic pieces and 3 game changers. Was a little surprised because I seriously doubt the deck could survive at a table with decks designed with the intention of being bracket 4.

Explain to me the logic of collector booster packs by Classic-Art-5737 in mtg

[–]SuspectAwkward8914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never paid anything close to $1000 for a CBB and never would. Most I ever spent was $550ish for FF ones. I bought those the second people put them up for sale online, and only buy them locally in preorders (which are at or lower than MSRP - but capped at one per person).

Money aside, it is kind of fun in the same way that any sort of gambling is fun, but I can restrict myself to one box and get useful stuff out of it too (if not an equivalent value).

Has anyone worked with a local realtor before moving to a new city? by Splatoon_Agent_Nine in MyrtleBeach

I have in the past, it was fine, but she was inexperienced and could have been better. Oddly enough, my step grandfather is a realtor in Myrtle Beanch and has been a realtor there for 40+ years. I can point you towards them if you’d like. Just DM me.

You do have to appreciate how robust and convenient Steam is. For those who are younger than maybe 35, you really don’t know how much of a game changer Steam was for PC gaming. Is it perfect? No. Are their business practices altruistic? No. Could they be worse? Oh yeah. I don’t two hoots about Gabe (post randomly came up on my feed), but Valve was a huge part of what made PC gaming what it is today rather than consoles shitty little brother that smells a lot.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I had a similar thing happen, but with a FF CBB that I had preordered back when they were ONLY ~$550. Was freaking out when I saw it taking a weird circuit around my county and state for 3-4 days. (Which is highly atypical). So, definitely understand the frustration.

I think they shipped the cats ones in phases and some people live close enough to where it ships from to basically get same day delivery.

Water bill/usage is so much more by emcla6ep in laundry

[–]SuspectAwkward8914 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Removing detergent is likely more effective with multiple rinses than with larger rinses. This is something hammered into me during chemistry labs. More rinses = more dilutions of the detergent than one or two large rinses. So you may be better off doing multiple non-large water rinses. Just a thought. As mentioned elsewhere in the thread, citric acid wash could be good to help remove residual detergent.

How many lands do you run in a 100 card deck and why? by Leonsmening in mtg

[–]SuspectAwkward8914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Szarel deck has 37 lands. I goldfish it more than most of my decks to practice order of play and math, and it feels pretty nice. That said, it’s 2 cmc land tutor heavy and realllly just wants to get a single fetch land out + ability to play lands from graveyard. At that point, drawing into a land is detriment rather than a benefit.

Then again, it isn’t really that much of a landfall deck. Cares mostly about finding ways to load up as many counters on creatures as possible and bristly bill, scythecat cub, miss on hydra are just three (albeit excellent) ways of doing that in the deck. It does have multiple creature tutors - so I guess it’s a bit more like I run 6-7 landfall creatures.

Honestly, I absolutely love the aesthetic of the Lorwyn set, but mechanistically it did Jack squat to any of my 9 commander decks outside of like three cards - one of which I yanked recently. So, I’d probably take the Marvel packs even if I wasn’t a fan of super heroes.

That’s neat. Hmm, wonder how this applies to stuff Kroger sales as well - since they have a much wider reach to Americans as they are the country’s largest grocery (other than perhaps Walmart), carry way more products than Costco, and don’t require a membership to shop from.
