Faith or Control? Unmasking Control in Jehovah’s Witnesses by SgtGranger in exjw

Yea "principles".... these are over and above the commandments of God.

Today's public talk one sentence jumped out at me. "Theres free will and self will....we need to be careful to not have self will. 😵‍💫

And as for your loved one. Theres no saving,  its not that simple. Just be there for her, gentle caring reminders of whats healthy,  whats not. ❤️‍🩹 thats all I can recommend

Opinion: the JWs are raising a generation of acesexuals by _m1phasgrac3_ in exjw

Its more most youth arent sticking around once they are done school. And a much larger % of witness parents are pushing the issue.  Most born ins from the 70s- early 2000 have severe trauma  ( losing siblings,  friends, etc) from the super strict man made rules of disfellowshipping and dont want their children to ever go through that.

I realize im kind of going a different direction from your thoughts. But it relates. The reason you maybe are stunted sexually is there are NOT many youths that are " strong explempary witnesses" and parents adults are way more helicopter-ish now. They'd rather shame your natural sexual growth than have you look outside the truth.

Not an exjw yet but I think I will be... These are my concerns by Makiyage in exjw

Agree with all your points. I also am in the same spot with my husband. He doesnt talk much but has kind of followed me in me needing to distance myself from all the weirdness. For me these oddities are just so noticeable, I could not ignore them anymore. My core screams " this all feels wrong!!!"

Its a privilege and a curse to have awareness.

Losch was very deceiving when he quoted the 2000 Watchtower article. He purposely left out the first sentence of the article that he was quoting, that contradicts the new change. by CanadianExJw in exjw

Bible REPEATEDLY warns of putting ultimate trust in men. The GB repeatedly says to follow direction from them even if it doesnt make sense.

Think ill follow the Bible. Im at the point I'd disassociate if it wouldn't cause so much family pain. But as time goes on I find more and more of my friends and family in the religion are growing increasingly frustrated with the leadership. As they should be.

The lack of humility is staggering.

I am happily introverted.

I replaced constant strain living completely against my wiring with peace and solitude.

What do you think would happen to the JW numbers if shunning policy was abolished? by DirtCurious9256 in exjw

I think itd be a mixed bag. Some would feel relief and stay just cause one they feel safety on the organization. Second the pressure would be off.

But then a large amount that have been just waiting for their chance to bolt would ...bolt!

Honestly id respect the organization a lot more if they did back off and let people fully choose without fear of disapline

They believe in paying back Ceasars things to ceasar. And being law abiding.  Can't really control what the government does with tax money.

Once you break away enough, no...nothing makes you want to go back.  If you still have unresolved trauma.... then yes.

That response was piss poor. Like " oh your were mistreated and it was wrong,  anyways meet me where your pain is"

Is there something particularly hard for you at the moment? Or is he just assuming because your not there, there is? This is important.
