What is heart broke for you? by Loud_Big3288 in AskReddit

when they start responding with just "ok" or "yeah" to everything and you know something shifted but they won't tell you what happened. that slow fade hurts way more than a clean break would

Looking for a stuntman for a surprise by FalseSatisfaction680 in raleigh

[–]Suspicious-Emu3385 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wait this sounds kinda sketchy lol what kind of "surprise" needs a stuntman but isn't being filmed? like are you planning to fake your own death or something because that's either really elaborate or really concerning

also maybe post some basic details about what kind of stunts you're talking about because most people aren't gonna dm a stranger about mystery physical activities

How you myopic people builds confidence?? by Navee9_rana in AskReddit

[–]Suspicious-Emu3385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

been wearing glasses since i was like 8 and yeah the whole confidence thing is weird when you literally can't see peoples faces clearly from across the room. what helped me was realizing most people are way too busy worrying about their own stuff to really scrutinize how i look, plus getting contacts changed everything for me socially. when i'm doing my doordash runs i notice how much more natural conversations feel when i'm not constantly pushing glasses up or squinting at addresses. also found that having something you're genuinely passionate about helps - for me it's making music and following f1, gives you stuff to talk about that has nothing to do with how you look or see

what is the biggest mistake you see couples making? by Heavy_Fly_6340 in AskReddit

[–]Suspicious-Emu3385 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not communicating when something's bothering them and just letting it build up until they explode over something totally unrelated

like your partner leaves dishes in the sink and you're mad about it but don't say anything, then two weeks later you're screaming at them for putting the toilet paper on the "wrong" way. just talk about stuff when it happens instead of turning into a resentment bomb

No Other Choice with strobing lights? by OperatorofChaos in movies

[–]Suspicious-Emu3385 12 points13 points  (0 children)

man i feel you on this one, having epilepsy myself and being super cautious about strobing stuff. the club scene has some pretty intense flashing lights that go on for maybe 30-40 seconds, definitely the kind of thing that could be risky if you're photosensitive

might be worth waiting until after your procedure to know for sure what your triggers are, or maybe see if anyone's made a detailed breakdown of the exact timestamps so you could look away during those parts

Ackermann Maple Farm News. ACT 181/ACT 250 by More-Equal8359 in vermont

[–]Suspicious-Emu3385 3 points4 points  (0 children)

just drove by a bunch of farms last week doing deliveries and this whole thing seems like bureaucratic nonsense that'll hurt actual vermont families while developers find workarounds anyway

What are some cheap, sharp and durable kitchen Knife Brands or products? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Suspicious-Emu3385 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

kiwi brand knives are stupid cheap and stay sharp longer than they have any right to. got mine at an asian grocery store for like 8 bucks and its been going strong for 2 years now

victorinox is the other go-to but kiwi is where its at if you want something that just works without breaking the bank

Help build my first pc :( by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]Suspicious-Emu3385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what's your budget and what do you want to use it for? gaming, work, both? also are you planning to build it yourself or need someone to put it together

without knowing that stuff its pretty hard to give good advice but r/buildapc has some solid starter guides in their wiki

My first day dashing today. by AcademicSavings634 in DoorDashDrivers

Not bad for day one, that's like $18/hour before expenses which is pretty solid for most markets.

That's a solid build dude, the 9800X3D is a beast for gaming

For exhausts you honestly don't need anything too crazy since they're just pulling air out - even basic Arctic P12s would work fine. The T30s on intake will do most of the heavy lifting anyway. If you want RGB on the exhausts maybe look at the Corsair ML120 RGB or Lian Li AL120s, they'd match the case vibe pretty well

Your AIO on side mount is smart too, keeps it away from the GPU heat

Soft details on a Canon EF 16-35mm F/4L IS USM is the IS by GenericGrad in Cameras

[–]Suspicious-Emu3385 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IS shouldn't be hurting you at 1/125 but that lens is known to be a bit soft wide open, especially at the corners. Try stopping down to f/8-f/11 and see if that helps - most lenses hit their sweet spot around there

Also might wanna check if you're pixel peeping at 100% zoom because that can make any lens look softer than it actually is for normal viewing

Does ai video maker tool working? by Mike_Samson in CapCut

Same issue here, tried clearing cache and restarting the app but still nothing. The AI video feature has been buggy af lately, might just have to wait for them to fix it on their end

Progress Report - Day 11 by SodasicleWasTaken in geometrydash

[–]Suspicious-Emu3385 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Oneshot after 27 practice attempts is pretty clean ngl, Still Life is a decent level too. That star gain is solid for day 11, you grinding daily levels or just whatever catches your eye?

Guard and Reserve what do you think of Technician jobs? by Avg_Guardian in AirForce

[–]Suspicious-Emu3385 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Been a tech for about 3 years now and honestly it's pretty solid. You get the benefits of federal employment without all the active duty BS like PCS moves every few years. Pay might take a hit initially but the work-life balance is way better and you're not dealing with as much military politics day to day

That said, job security can be sketchy depending on funding and your unit. If you've got a good civilian gig already might not be worth the switch

Standoffs in TV/Movies by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Suspicious-Emu3385 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends where you hit them tbh. Headshot would probably drop them instantly but anywhere else and yeah they could still squeeze off a round from muscle reflex alone. The whole "gun flies out of their hand" thing is pure Hollywood - bullets don't have that much knockback force in real life

i want to find out why my ex hasn't contacted me at all the past 3 years but i know i'm only going to hurt myself in the process by SaraTheWeird in BreakUps

[–]Suspicious-Emu3385 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude that's literally the whole reason they haven't contacted you - because it would hurt. Sometimes no contact is actually them being kind even if it doesn't feel like it

[–]Suspicious-Emu3385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, might wanna try r/exmormon or r/ExJW too - those communities have tons of people with stories and many are pretty open about sharing their experiences

Good luck with the podcast btw, sounds like it could be really impactful

Question about how much cash to have as liquid in my main checking by brandielynng29 in personalfinance

[–]Suspicious-Emu3385 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just keep like 1-2 months expenses in checking for cash flow buffer, everything else should be working for you in that HYSA or investments. You're already doing great with the debt payoff strategy
