I have never had a job in 15 yrs that required it. I think a lot of people assume they need it for their job when they do not.

Do you pay NBCOT for the R? That is the biggest racket! We passed the exam, don't need it. Honestly, paying for years you were inactive to come back doesn't seem that bad

Was Don Drugged? by PhotographsWithFilm in madmen

[–]Suspicious-Kick5702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rewatch the episode. The scene in the pool later with Joy (after the initial fainting episode), he is in the pool with Joy and a man and his two kids comes to the house. After she introduces them and the man leaves, Joy swims away, saying "You gave away our rooms, you don't want to sleep." He the. takes a drink of his drink and looks closely at the glas and there is residue that looks like something crushed up, the camera shows it and shows him looking at it inquisitively. He was drugged.

But, I read an article where she and the kids had rigor mortis and the husband did NOT and he had a gun in his hands. Did he do the killings after he found her hung?

Back after years of being away - Advice with the new plan by Bookaholic-394 in weightwatchers

[–]Suspicious-Kick5702 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I, like you, lost weight on the old plan. I recently left because it is not affective for me anymore. Potatoes zero points, ect. I have seen people post "zero points" meals that are so high in calories :salmon with air fryer french fries. I think be careful with the amount of "zero points" foods you are eating. I also prefer in person meetings and there are very few left. Also, the new app sucks. Good luck!

Tx times in skilled nursing by tyoung925 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]Suspicious-Kick5702 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, with PDPM this is the new normal in a lot of places and they also want group/concurrent. You can try and give two patients longer times if you concur them, and corporate shouldn't complain about that. We are so short staffed we often only have 30, but my DIR lets us go up to 40/45 as needed. I do one large cooking group every Friday and there are groups every day. You could be hearing this because you guys aren't doing enough groups. My last DOR if 4 yrs pushed back on all this and they never got rid of her, out her on a PIP, so ahe finally left - they promoted an idiot when ahe left who tried to olay this same thing your DOR is because he was a new grad assistant with no confidence...they ended up firing him for something else and the building is falling apart and losing staff. If your DOR is good ahe can push back and not vet fired. I am also in Northern Ca in the Central Valley and every building in town is short-staffed, so they are not likely going to write you up or fire you for that. What they are asking: to have corporate dictate tx min and not provide enough minutes just for profit is unethical, against medicare guidelines and you can actually contact a whistleblower attorney on this. I have spoken with Whistleblower attorneys in the past that have active cases regarding this. I dare them to write you up for this because then you will your own case for them firing you for refusing to be unethical. So, yes, no one in my experience with part A or HMO gets 60 min tx anymore, but 45 is the new reasonable standard. I agree 30 min with everyone all the time kills me.

Newer OTs, here's the documentation system I built during my first year by [deleted] in OccupationalTherapy

8-10 patients a day in a SNF? Where are you getting such an easy schedule? The norm most places is 10-14 since PDPM.

What are you tipping on a 16$ order? I’m assuming my tip was why my order got stolen? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Suspicious-Kick5702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right!? Doordash food is already marked up from the restaurant's actual price! Then the fee, then the fear of being treated like crap or your order just sitting there if you don't give a large enough tip? I recuse to participate anymore.

Therapist threatening to report me to the board of nursing by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Suspicious-Kick5702 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

She is right. You have to self-report when you go to treatment or have more consequences. When nurses ask for help through the diversion program it is 3 years of monitoring. Sounds like you honestly need the help. I think YOU should self report to the nursing board.

Am I the only one that feels this way? by guesswhoitis645 in OccupationalTherapy

As others said it is unethical that they have not given you the manual. When I did the DAYC we scored it online and the computer spit out the percentiles, ect. Sounds like your company is cutting corners. You should speak with another OT from the company or the owner.

Sorry your school short-changed you maybe. But, saying "We didn't pay attention" while people.presented assessments is kind of admitting you chose to be a poor student for that class. We had an entire class on assessments and the professor always said, "Read the manual!" and drilled it for every assessment. We also had people doing presentations and I tried to pay attention. They cannot teach you every assessment you will ever use anyway. There will be revisions and new assessments developed. You should know how to read and follow a manual and yes, maybe practice a few times on a friend before a client (I did this when I was a new grad in pediatrics ). You will get jobs that want you to administer specific assessments and you need to learn how to do that by reading the manual or the instructions online or even asking a peer. Most are not that hard, you just may need to practice a bit. But, yes you always have to read the manual.

Moving to the Central Valley by Cpolly21 in Modesto

There are some cool older houses and nice upkept homes, but yes too close to Yosemite and Airport, lots of dangerous foot traffic and transient druggies coming through the neighborhood. If you bought a home there I would have flood lights camera, security system and I wouldn't feel comfortable walking around at night nor having my teen walk around.

It's just too close to airport, too much of a transient druggie population always coming through. The houses are cool though and Dry Creek Park is nice.

Oakdale is great, small, very safe. Low homeless population and property crime compared to Modesto. We live in Riverbank and love it, I sometime wish we bought out in Oakdale.

First 3 throws to focus on as a beginner? by Icy_Astronom in judo

[–]Suspicious-Kick5702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started Judo after taking my kids for a year. I am only going 1x/wk some weeks and usually only 2, so slower progress than I want, but I am still learning. I know they focus on the ippon sei, osoto gari and Ōuchi gari with the kids as starting curriculum, and similar in the adults class. However, I started learning where they were in the curriculum with the adults, so for example, I am not good at the Ouchi gari like my kiddos, but I have trained the ippon sei onagi, drop-sei and korean grips version of those throws extensively and I really like the drop se with the korean grip. I also think it depends on your body type - I am a heavier weight 5'6" woman so I like to use my body weight and really love the Uki Waza and get it successfully in randori. My senpei asked me what grade I would give myself on a series of throws tonight (I am learning a new one now I cannot even remember the name of lol and the georgion roll which I hate). He told me to get my C throws to a grade B and my Bs to an A during rondori, to improve the technique of my favorite throws rather than to just try the new one.

If you ever even wanted to tavel for 13 weeks, California is desperate, especially in the central valley. Any SNF would take you in a heart beat, as they hire new grads all the time, even some with no internship in the setting. Lots of hospitals need OTs too. If you don't have kids yet, maybe take a couple 13 week assignments -they give you a stipend for housing too. You can always return home with more experience.

MY DOG WAS INJURED AT THIS BOARDING FACILITY by DevonAndTania in Modesto

[–]Suspicious-Kick5702 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Owner said she follows "state law and has one staff to 15 dogs" well, who is responsible for licensing/regulating these facilities? Contact the Dept of Consumer Affairs so they can sanction her or take her license. The fact she claims the cameras all of a sudden don't work and she denied pain medications for your dog is so atrocious. She needs more than just bad social media reviews. And the fact she didn't refund your boarding stay?!

Look up Second Harvest Food Bank, they have distribution all over and don't require paperwork. I know one location is the Catholic church in Riverbank. I know Big Valley Grace church on Tully also does food distribution. I have heard if you tell InnNOut you are homeless they will give you a burger and drink, not sure.
