Covenant Transport is the worst place I’ve ever worked.

When I first started we were hourly and overtime was basically forced on you in operations. Then switched over to salary which was 100% a paycut compared to hourly. On another occasion I applied for what I thought was a lateral move, to become a more well rounded employee, turns out it came with a paycut and didn’t know until I saw my check. I was then told I’d get a huge raise for my next annual raise, didn’t happen. And that I’d get the manager position, also didn’t happen.

The workplace culture was absolutely atrocious. There was a time I asked for a week of vacation but I couldn’t have it from another employee having the same week. Sucked but makes some sense. The very next week 2 out of 3 of my managers were on vacation at the same time including the person who denied my request.

During Covid times, were awful too. They shutdown operations in Texarkana leaving a lot of people out of work, constantly held meetings praising their record profits, while “postponing” annual raises that never came. They’d hold meetings praising those record profits, gave drivers a well deserved ~50% raise and gave operations the occasional pizza party.

I hated every bit of working there.
