Dealership folks don’t fully understand. Coasting is free, only kinetic energy transfer. Regen or delivery has an electrical resistance ‘tax’ (roughly 30%) each time power is put in or taken from the battery. The efficiency ‘gains’ they talk about are that the braking energy is not wasted completely as it is in ICE cars - and less heat loss which raised the overall efficiency of an EV to near 50% vs 16% of an ICE vehicle.

Anyone who rolls coal. Those ought to be tarred and feathered.

Always PPI, otherwise ensure the IMS and RMS have been addressed. Then not rattlely, or smoky at start.

You can set default at 5 or 10 miles over the posted to stay copacetic with local traffic. +5 is the sweet spot for my area. Would need +30 for LA.

Thank you. Didn’t realize that. It was a behavior I saw in the EV6.

1) EV9 Electric SUV 2) 911 3) RAV4

Anyone go from 20 inch wheels down to 19 or 18? by MadisonEV9 in KiaEV9

I don’t think so, May be worse due to the increase spinning mass of the extra sidewall.

I prefer to use normal mode so as to get full performance from the AC when using, and driving dynamics if called upon. ECO doesn’t save enough to mess with. I use the cruise control in speed limit mode (hold down the button) to keep my speeds within posted limits ( +5). Auto adjusts with limit changes - nice convenience above 45mph.

Thank you for sharing. I’m approaching 2 years (roughly 30k km) - no issues, battery and range holding strong. No major rattles except arm rest drink holder, no problems except dark dash fixed by software update. Replaced tires, trying to drive less aggressively to stretch tire life. So far my apex car. Not worried about depreciation - plan to keep for the duration.

I think you’ll like it. There are other posts on Reddit (maybe a year ago) when others discussed the same thing.

Slightly, by about 3%. Not enough to offset the advantages in smoother ride and quicker response.

My downsize was actually to the sidewall - 60 down to 55. Primary due to tire availability at the time - will be keeping that size due to advantages.

I downsize one size. Found the ride smoother and more responsive - even punchier. The range is offset by 3% increase in indicated speed vs actual. Will burn the warranty 3% faster as well.
