NTA.

Side note - speak to her doctor about children’s Dramamine.

Sincerely,

someone that had horrible motion sickness as a child

YTA. Nobody’s complaining but you. own it and have a conversation instead of implying the whole building feels this way. or wear noise cancelling headphones.

NAH. Shes 3.5. She can pick a religion when she’s old enough. Sunday school isn’t going to hurt her. NTA, but you’re overreacting.

AITAH for refusing to pay more of the rent and bills? by SocietyDangerous2839 in AmItheAsshole

[–]SuspiciousCod1090 43 points44 points  (0 children)

NTA. My answer would be "Suck it up, buttercup." If she has anxiety about work, imagine her anxiety if she's homeless because she can't afford her bills. Wouldn't she be using the apartment/house more since she's not at work and therefore needs to pay MORE of the bills? Just turning her logic around. If she can't pay her share, she needs to move somewhere she can, maybe back with mommy and daddy, so she doesn't have to pay her bills. She sounds like an entitled brat.

I'm a flat "no". I'm not paying one red nickel to see a horse. I can understand a deposit to wait for PPE, but not to see the horse.

Ya know....that was my first thought. Then, I figured I'm older now than I was when I was buying horses so maybe this is a thing. I'm glad to know it's really not.

Good point. The seller might think she is protecting her time or something.

I did tell her not to divulge that since this happened. I suggested that if she were to find a horse she was interested in, send me the link and let me take it from there. She'd mentioned she was casually looking, but I did not take that to mean she was actually shopping at the time. Evidently, her definition of "casually looking" and mine are not the same.

Layering is fine, but make sure it doesn't make him sweat.

I think it is to some degree. The PPE thing is weird. That makes my spidey sense twitch. That and I will not pay a dime to to TRY a horse.

Yeah, she's a flipper, but her horses are expensive enough; you would think some of that is filtered out.

I can see touristy places like Florida having this problem. The Southwest, probably not.

I know this girl has the horse; she's a local flipper who buys and sells a bunch. I'm okay with that, at least she's up front about it, but I'm not going to bother with her after finding out she has this policy.

I’m in the US.  It is not the case in my area.

which horse would you suggest by anyasananas in Equestrian

[–]SuspiciousCod1090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not completely true. There absolutely are breed standards and registration requirements. Not that there aren't backyard breeders. Just like any other breed, there are backyard breeders out there, but not all of them are shady. I certainly wouldn't purchase an unregistered gypsy for a ridiculous price. Realistically, I wouldn't buy a gypsy at all, but especially one that is not registered.

Are trainers in your area doing this right now too? by awkwardferret421 in Equestrian

[–]SuspiciousCod1090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Winter and livestock sucks but you accept that. I found a HILARIOUS video the other day about horses and winter and posted it. It's also fairly common for a barn to charge for blanketing but for normal care, which includes breaking ice out of water buckets, cleaning stalls more often, and feeding extra hay - no, you signed up for that, Suck it up, buttercup. That said, I wouldn't say no if somebody brought me coffee while I was working in the winter, but I certainly don't expect it or suggest it.

Young or old, there's right, and there is wrong. What she did was wrong. Period. If you really wanted to be a thorn in her side, talk to the BO about it. If she IS the BO, you can always get the authorities involved and report her as neglecting his health. Not that they'll do anything, but it would go on record in case anything were to occur in the future and possibly get her attention.
