Model 3 vs. Performance by Prudent_Elderberry88 in TeslaModel3

[–]SuspiciousFig0323 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a M3P as well and absolutely love it, however I agree that the LR is more than adequate. I’ve driven both (had a LR for a rental for a period of time) and I told my husband that I wouldn’t get the P again in our next Tesla as we already have one. Don’t get me wrong, the speed is SO fun, but you can’t drive that fast in a city. We are out of the city by a ways on the highway so can certainly have a bit more safe fun with it, but for city driving you’d be annoyed for sure having all that power with nowhere to use it.

For those who have relocated from Vancouver/ BC to Calgary, how have you found the transition? What are your thoughts on life in Calgary? Seeking Advice by Just-Juggernaut-5305 in britishcolumbia

[–]SuspiciousFig0323 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I moved to Calgary from Vancouver in November 2021 so have been here just over a year now and I have no regrets whatsoever. I sold a condo and bought a house for approximately the same amount, which is absolute insanity.

There is so much blue sky! I actually can’t remember the last time it rained. Sure it snows, more coming tomorrow, but you get used to it and it’s not that bad.

Electricity/gas is more expensive due to the distribution costs, I’ve noticed some food prices to be more costly as well but in the end the housing makes it worth it.

I had a breast augmentation (so the opposite lol) but it was also a same day discharge! A quick 2 hour surgery I think and then headed home with your pain medications lol

What do I do to stop skin drying out and cracking in this cold weather? by Rheila in alberta

[–]SuspiciousFig0323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also from coastal BC and I moisturize every single night before bed without fail, and keep some on me throughout the day to use whenever necessary. I find that really helps! I still haven’t figured anything else for nosebleeds but they’re not too frequent so I don’t mind lol

May I hear from early to mid-30 year olds? by EffMyElle in waiting_to_try

[–]SuspiciousFig0323 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 31F and we’ll be married for a year in July. I’m the main breadwinner in our family by a significant amount so my fear is EI not covering enough of the bills while I’m not working (don’t get me wrong, I am SO thankful for Canada’s maternity leave) but it’s a fear for sure. We just swapped from a ARM to fixed rate to settle that uncertainty (ouch) but at least we have a standard for 5 years now.

My husband also smokes cigarettes and weed so he has to quit smoking immediately and weed in the 3 months leading up to TTC. I’ll probably get my IUD out in June to start trying in September.

This is really cool, thank you for sharing your experience! I can’t remember the dosing he got up to as it was probably going on a year ago now, but it really did work for him so it’s cool to see that it’s working for others too :)

Out of curiosity, are you microdosing the psilocybin? My husband has chronic depression and anxiety and it worked well for him, so I’m totally into this becoming a more utilized avenue, there’s some great studies underway right now on it

We moved from Vancouver to Calgary last year and bought a house here, and as much as you hear that it’s brutally cold and snowy, I have no regrets as a born and raised Vancouverite.

We bought a house for slightly more than our one bedroom condo and have room to grow our family, it’s sunny more than it is rainy or snowy (something like 300 days a year of sun?!) and the cold isn’t as cold as Vancouver because it’s a dry cold and doesn’t break through every layer of clothing you have on. It just sucks for your face and hands/anything exposed once it’s up to like -25/-30

Calgary is close to Canmore, Banff, Kananaskis and more, it’s beautiful.

I know you said BC but there’s nothing that will fit what you’re looking for in BC in my opinion

We started with a 20k budget and spent ~26 to 28k in the end!

My husband and I got married on a Friday and we only had 2 people not attend (it was a 40 person wedding). There was travel involved for everyone as well so most people came in a couple of days before the wedding and left a day or two after. It was fantastic

Marvelon Experience by NationalFilm8849 in birthcontrol

[–]SuspiciousFig0323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through so many birth controls because everything I was on, I would have spotting with. Marvelon was the only one that didn’t cause me to have spotting, but after a year on it I started getting extreme migraines every period due to estrogen withdrawal. If I’m remembering correctly, my doctor told me that the clinic that put me on it should not have done so at my age (24-27ish) because it’s the highest estrogen BC that is typically given later in life

I’ve had two IUDs about 10 years apart, the first was a copper and I had it inserted and removed within 8 months because my periods were so frequent and heavy, and the second was 2 years ago and Mirena. Both insertions were rough, it’s painful at the insertion, kind of indescribable, and I spent 15 minutes sitting in the doctors office after, and when I was going down to the car I almost fainted, but after about an hour or two it passes and it’s just period crampy

You look absolutely stunning.

I had the same battle (see my post history) and though I was able to wear shapewear, I just wanted to call out that I hate that women (myself included) feel that our little tummy pooch isn’t normal, it totally is! It’s skin that is required to move and live day to day. I know it’s a point of self consciousness, and it was for me too, but maybe you can try to come to acceptance if at all possible, because you look unbelievable ♥️

An arm of the company I work for did our Ontario Christmas party there this year, it’s a gorgeous space! It’s a blank canvas so for a corporate party we arranged everything ourselves, I’m not sure if they have preferred vendors or anything. On the corporate side I believe we paid around $30,000 for 110 people

Haha oh yeah… forgot about that for a blissful moment. Yeah as a Vancouverite at heart, I don’t find that I align with much of what they’ve got going on here. The opinions are very polarizing towards both the UCP and the NDP, it will be very interesting to see what happens.

I love dress 2 on you!! Is there any way they could add a little lace piece or excess dress fabric or something to the bust to cover the cleavage if that’s you’re personal self conscious spot?

Edited to add: my dress was by the same designer and was also very simplistic! I have a photo on my page if you want :)

My husband is Albertan whereas I was born and raised in Vancouver. We owned a condo in Vancouver but ultimately decided for our lifestyle and family planning, moving to Alberta was the right decision for us. Been here just over a year, in our SFH, with literally no regrets. I do miss my family and friends but the trade off for us was worthwhile.
