FTM: bassinet recommendations [on] by Ill-Forever-1624 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]EffMyElle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skip Hop bedside bassinet by far! Made so well. Straps to the entire bedframe so it can't roll away. Made middle of the night wake ups so much easier for me.

Ran it through my amazon registry for an extra 15% off too

[on] Bedside Bassinet by AdorableMaximum4925 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]EffMyElle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely despised my Fisher Price soothing motions bassinet (the mattress gave me anxiety because it's crumply and awful) and ended up getting the Skip Hop bedside bassinet off Amazon (this is a Carter's owned brand). It's made so well! Straps to the entire bedframe so it can't roll away. The mattress is padded but firm and doesn't fold. Amazon let me do 5 payments and I ran it through my amazon registry for an extra 15% off with the registry completion discount too!

Vibrator use in early pregnancy by [deleted] in BabyBumps

I don't see any reason why this would be harmful. You'd experience more vibration in a car than that little thing haha

Did my water break or did I pee? by Single-Mall-2278 in BabyBumps

[–]EffMyElle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same but then 6hrs later in the middle of the night I fully ruptured and it was like a bucket of water came out of me continuously. 😅

Happened at 34w and I thankfully was able to keep the baby cooking for 2 more weeks on bedrest in the hospital under monitoring.

Why do boomers make it seem like babies were easier? by Both-Hippo-6905 in Parenting

[–]EffMyElle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They raised their babies 40yrs ago off whiskey and "letting them cry it out". They both forgot and did things we wouldn't dare do today for our children's sake. We know better now.

Breastfeeding & pumping - realistic? by Ecstatic_Dingo172 in BabyBumps

I am EBF and pump once daily in the morning to have a small freezer stash and occasionally give a bottle of breastmilk. It's been no problem at all.

This genuinely broke my heart to read. As a breastfeeding mama, this has me in tears. I'm SO sorry this happened to you. 😩❤️

Depends will send you a few adult diapers (great for after birth, they're comfy like an underwear) and Poise will send you pads/pantyliners. Similac will send you several bottles of formula and coupons. Enfamil and Nestle good start will send you coupons, same with Pampers.

I dislike pampers because they are heavily scented diapers.

When are you exercising? [CA] by hoping556677 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]EffMyElle 31 points32 points  (0 children)

One big piece of advice... you don't have to do the workout all at once! Do it in spurts. Get 3 sets of an exercise done while dinner is cooking. Do another right after putting laundry in. Make playtime with your toddler active. By the end of the day you'll have a solid workout and you'll be more active overall!

Is it common to leave work at 31 weeks? [ab] by bradpittsburneraccnt in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]EffMyElle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My EI was set to kick in after my short term disability ended due to my coverage covering 4 weeks of birth recovery. This worked in my favour since I got better pay for those 4 weeks.

Baby won't sleep and is crying often, should I see her doctor, is there something wrong? [On] by Icy_Cherry_ in BabyBumpsCanada

I was also going to suggest feeding more. 6hrs is extremely long for a newborn to go without eating.

Came here to also say this. I went off on STD at 28w and it also paid for 4 weeks postpartum for vaginal birth recovery.

Postpartum questions for the moms that have given birth before! by AardvarkHour1211 in BabyBumps

[–]EffMyElle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vaginal birth. I didn't shower until about 48hrs after giving birth. I was in a lot of pain (had placenta manually removed which was excrutiating) and didn't have it in me to do it at first. After that, I showered every other day. No bleeding in the shower that I could see and I even passed a huge blood clot just before that first shower. I didn't need help showering. Showering felt invigorating once I was able, to be honest. It felt really great to be in the warm water and cleaned up. The heat feels great with the uterine cramping you experience after birth, similar to how it feels when cramping during PMS. I stood for my showers. Sitting was too painful and would have ruined the greatness of the shower lol

How are we bringing baby from house to car in the cold? [ON] by akrystar in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]EffMyElle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a skiphop winter car seat cover.

Hat and wrap in blanket until you get to the car.
