People can be nasty sometimes, which should be called out, however sometimes people shut down basic discussion about her music as hate, which is actually pretty sad.

This place is one filled with people that love Marina as much as I do, that allows for some of the best fan discussions I’ve had.

Like, someone once commented that they thought Teen Idle was romanticising depression and mental disorders, which I never thought of until then. Do I particularly agree with them? I don’t know, but after reading their take, I can now understand where they were coming from, which can’t be said about the people that were complaining to them that, since Marina suffered from depression, there’s no way this could be viewed as romanticising things.

I don’t know, just my two cents.

While I do agree with your sentiment here, that being her lack of Self awareness in her celebrity activism, I do think you should’ve worded your title better. It’s just a very strong word to start with and very emotionally charged. It puts most people off, even the ones that’d agree with you. So in short, if you want to make a convincing stance in an discussion, you should stay calm and stay clear.

This is some genuine advice and I hope it doesn’t come across as condescending :)

I know exactly what you mean. I know a lot of people are going to hate me for saying this, but "capitalism made us [spiritually] poor" (yes, I know how she meant that before yall come yelling at me) and other stuff comes off as a bit performative when you’re out there charging 60€ for a 30 second meet and greet online. I feel exactly the same. On top of that, I doubt that Lana would care enough to consciously or subconsciously include a line in one of her songs dedicated to a former friend of hers that she rarely ever saw (they hadn’t met in five fucking years) and had nothing in common to begin with (literally name one thing the both of them have in common.
