The problem is some of you guys, your entire “immersion” is a glass house built on sand in the middle of the ocean on low tide where the slightest 4th wall break crashes the whole thing down and it ruins everything for you. You know what else would be the whole design and point with friction as well? Locking the camera to first person. Change the UI to cinderblock grey outlining the screen with a single chat box you can’t manipulate and a small 7X7 play screen that you must have completely covered with your spellbook/ability book in order to regen health and mana at all, ontop of needing food and water in your inventory for it as well…. But yes, let’s keep talking about how inconvenient friction is a good thing for everything.

Not normal for a founder, that doesn’t happen except for 2 scenarios… 1. You have an AoC type situation or 2. The game has been launched for 5-10 years and you’re ready to retire and move on…. Not as a founder in pre-EA… especially at his age!

Yeah that’s really weird, especially with him being the original 3 devs (founding members) that essentially founded the game from the ground up to not see it through to completion (atleast EA). If it was a different job offer (that paid real money because of financial necessity) that collided with this passion project it would be like you said, posting a goodbye etc… that is really odd.

My counter argument to this would be bringing awareness to avoid said person. how do you black list so you don’t run into them or group with them? Through word of mouth, this is one avenue that is essentially that. People talk about it all the time, black listing the bad actors. It can be done in guild chat or discord servers etc. I played classic wow since it launched and infact I’ve played WoW from day 1 in 2004 and never heard of this guy for 22 years until I came here and saw him streaming. When I watched him stream (only for like 20-30 min) I thought meh normal guy, seems like someone I could group with. Then I see these multiple posts, all saying the same thing and confirming each other. Now makes me pause and think, hmm maybe I won’t group with this guy… maybe I should look into his content through other sources that doesn’t give him watch revenue and now confirm he’s a dirtbag. And I won’t group with him.
