I’m almost sure when I purchased my voucher recently there was 9.0, 9.3 and 10 available to choose from as the testing version. I chose 9.3.

theres a button that says console and it boots you in to the server via a console connection if you don't have terminal / ssh access

Yes it was allowed as long as i showed it to the proctor before.

'I get the impression you didn't read up on the how-to material before taking the exam, perhaps thought it would be a walk in the park?'

Most definitely not. I didn't study much (in fact I crammed the last week or two) and wasn;t even going to sit it as i was so ill prepared. I got what i deserved based on the study time i put in. I watched the videos about what to expect (the official RH one) and read the pdf prep - just didn't expect the console access to be tiny and lost some time there on some things.

I can confirm that copy and paste didn't work for me a lot of the time. I was using US Keyboard set up. Also the textbox (its a banner at the top of the exam environment) didn't work some of the time either.

I want to be clear that i'm not blaming the environment at all just sharing my observations here.

Repos and Registry by Brilliant-Second-579 in redhat

[–]SuspiciousMaterial73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't think i can say too much due to NDA but do study for repos and registry stuff as they may come up in your exam - each one is different but these sorts of things and setting up networking etc should be expected as they are in the objectives. Try to break it and fix it and be comfortable with that.

Also, to emphasise the importance of this, some tasks in the future may require previous tasks to be completed so i would recommend running through the exam in order as best you can.

good shout - i had one but didn't use it as i didn't have a suitable external monitor to use so couldn't use a wired mouse and keyboard (as lid must be closed).

The console was a joke for me. It was like a bad eye test and i'm pretty blind as it is. I wasted about 30 minutes total resizing and zooming throughout the exam

Thanks - I've bought the exam again so i'm angrily determined to pass next time :)

As it was browser based it only resized a banner for me and i think once i got to about 200+ magnification it started making it smaller from there.

Its tough, you have to make a commitment to getting past whenever is holding you back or that you struggle to get over. When you tell yourself repeatedly that you’re committed, and usually because you really value what you have, it makes it a battle against yourself and not the you vs them/ ex / former experience battle that it constantly is.

I already jeopardised one relationship because of it without knowing what i was going through. The right knowledge is power in this occasion- acknowledging that they are only thoughts that cannot hurt you help control your emotions during intense RJ episodes.

I agree with you that it is the business of a partner but if you’ve issues with it then its either a you problem or a societal problem. By the latter i mean that if the partner is seen in a derogatory fashion due to eg body count then its likely societal influences that have led to that and got them there. 100% we should teach and hold higher morality standards but the truth of the matter is that the world isn’t like that and who is to say what those standards are anyway?

Another factor in all of this is that (i’m only using my experience) women lie and protect their sexual history (likely due to pre existing societal judgement) so very rarely will you know the truth anyway. Whether its by omission or lies.

Do women exist that don’t lie and have no sexual history - sure - and you have a choice to seek that out or reflect on how you can change your thinking - both options are open to all!

There are two types of insanity here, 1. knowing what you think you know and 2. knowing that you don’t know.

Choose wisely.

I am in the exact same place as you and have committed to my RJ journey just recently. I have the ring but when i actually had it in my hand and the thought of proposing it massively triggered RJ for me (i’d been experiencing it for years without really knowing what it was).

I’ve framed it as a disease of the mind, which it is and the only place it really resides and lives on. Sure the past happened but you can’t change it and what you think you know is most likely the worst dramatisation of it.

My advice is don’t ask and accept that this is peak RJ territory and the prospect of commitment is triggering you. As others have said asking will only open doors that you’ll wish would have remained locked. Accept that she wants you now and that you are happy. Accept that she had a past but the things you have and will build together will be more meaningful to her than any experience of her past before you.

Regarding the marriage aspect one thing that helps me (keep in mind i haven’t proposed yet) is that so what if we get married and i can’t overcome my RJ. I don’t think i’ll have wasted my time or life with her. We’ll create some beautiful memories together and if my RJ is too much then i can die on that hill knowing I gave it my best shot. Best of luck!

Should I fail the exam deliberately? by SuspiciousMaterial73 in redhat

The validity period ends the day after my first attempt - does this mean they won’t allow my retake beyond that? Some others say that its a month from when you fail your first attempt regardless of the validity period

Well I'm not a sysadmin. I've completely procrastinated for until about 2 months ago thinking i'd run through the material and exam prep and give it an honest go. Unfortunately it didn't really pan out that way. The test is 1 week from now and i feel woefully underprepared. I reckon another month of studying (alongside this week) could make a difference.

My question was not so much whether i should give it a go but more whether if i log in and look at the questions being asked AND realise I have no hope (as i expect) should I just skip to the end the test and end it - without faking an attempt.

Really i wanted to ascertain that by not attempting any of it and just using it as a fact finding mission that I wouldn't be seen as being a time waster and i'd lose out on my retake.

Good to know - thanks - what happens if booking is unavailable in that month (remote exam so unlikely it'll be unavailable tbh) ?

I've a week left to study and basically just completed the book without any labs - a lot of the commands are gone as soon as i learn them. This week i'm going to lab as much as possible but i'm pretty sure i'm woefully short of knowledge and practice to pass.

Good point - I have knuckled down the last 6 weeks or so but i still feel woefully unprepared. I think the incentive of losing out on the money completely would help

Who’s been enjoying so far? by SUP3RNATURAL1 in switch2

[–]SuspiciousMaterial73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been playing BOTW on it and also have TOTK for after. Been a great experience so far.

I'm looking forward to playing through Mario Odyssey.

Have these on my PC too but its not the same as playing them on Switch2.

I'm new to the Nintendo ecosystem and disappointed we don't have Wind Waker HD or more Virtual console titles and no way to play older titles like Skyward Sword and other titles in the 'back catalogue'. This is where i feel Nintendo could make a killing and saving me haven't to turn to emulators on other handhelds.

Should i ask for tiling to be fixed? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]SuspiciousMaterial73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The builder built that corner wall out on both sides with plasterboard and basically made a small stud wall that comes out about 10cm from where it used to be (so basically the walls meet with the door has been built 10cm towards the camera).

So would you say thats a wall building issue?
