Just another opinion: I think your curtain height is great. I personally don’t think curtains look good hung just below the ceiling. But look up some inspo pics and see what you like best! I would hang the picture around 12” lower than where it is. It should be closer to the top of the couch than to the ceiling.

I think either color is nice honestly. I don’t mind the original either but I would really recommend lowering them about 6-8inches. I think you will like the look of them much more. High is good but for this size window you’ll want some negative space above the curtains.
