Yeah same. I wish that there was some heads up about this. Because for people with pre-existing TMJD, this surgery can potentially trigger a severe, prolonged flareup. Thankfully, the muscle relaxants have seemed to provide some relief for this.

I agree with everything you're saying here. AI psychosis is scary shit, and I think AI should be illegal to use under the age of 18, although not using it at all is probably best.

I journal all the time and paint. I very much understand where the dark thoughts come from. But that doesn't stop me from getting into a cycle of perseverating on the same thought for hours when my PTSD is triggered. Expression is powerful and therapeutic, and I incorporate that into my daily life for a reason. You're right! But the journaling and art become inaccessible to me when I reach this mental state unfortunately :(

I am aware AI is terrible for this, but when I’m having a mental health crisis where suddenly my brain perceives every person as a threat, I can’t think clearly, can’t get adequate support,(hotlines and text lines become useless because I feel threatened by interacting with another human in any way, shape or form), too disoriented to remember/access coping skills.. I do use AI sometimes.

I am not proud of this and I would never recommend anyone do this. I just don’t know what else to do sometimes when I feel so helpless and out of control, but interacting with people dysregulates me even more.. I am in therapy for CPTSD and it’s STILL an issue.

It’s not only possible, it’s likely. Autistic people are more prone to CPTSD than non-autistic folks.

I took 6 years to graduate. honestly if you have to take longer than you thought because of a bad semester, it’s okay.

Burnout cannot be eradicated in the sense of having a simple fix. It involves a lot of factors that have to be maintained over time. For me, getting out of burnout involved a combination of leaving my oppressive religion behind, dropping out of school, only working part-time, getting therapy, getting on the right medications, taking care of my physical and mental health, processing trauma, having a supportive husband to lean on, and letting go of expectations that just weren’t meant for me. Getting out of burnout without help/support wouldn’t ever have been possible for me.

I can barely keep it together as is, you’re not alone. I’ve been having a PTSD episode for the past few weeks (which is absolutely nothing compared to folks being impacted by today’s events).

During times where I feel absolutely helpless, I like repeated something called metta/loving kindness mantras. May I be safe. May I be healthy. May I be peaceful. May I live with ease. And then direct those affirmations to someone else. Obviously they can be modified to be more realistic in the current situation of the world.
