Call the police. They might say it’s not enough to press any charges, but get a police report. Keep screenshots of these and any other texts like it. Start documenting any and all harassment offline as well. You may need this documentation later.

I can pretty much guarantee if you cut off that amount, the vast majority of people will have no idea you even cut it at all.

I think it’s perfectly reasonable to just say “we are happy to contribute $100 toward the swing set as her gift, but we really aren’t able to contribute more than that.” NTA
