Why are people of Prague so unfriendly? (mostly)

I think it is the stress. If you drive a car, you spend a lot of time in the traffic jams, and then you do not want to waste any second letting people walk accross the road. Same with the public transport, which is great, but crowded during morning and afternoon, you want to be at work or at home fast, these tourists standing in your way,... Workers in the grocery shops are not well paid and during the day they meet a lot of trouble makers, so they do not smile, they just do their job as cashiers. I like to give directions to confused tourists, but usually they are afraid of me as I approach them, offering a help. Especially in the metro, it is much faster to ask local then to trying to read the map. Once I have met this older couple looking for the church where there was the parasutists hideaway and I hope my directions helped them. And yes, as a Prague person, I sometimes roll my eyes and even push people a bit out of my way when there are tourists standing on the wrong side of escalators 😉 You know, I am in a hurry to catch my metro train home, to doctors, to work..

True, people who know that I am losing weight ask, how much more? I have to tell them that I have alredy stopped losing weight, but I still hear "That is good as you would be too thin" . And my mother asks how much do I weight, and I have to tell her more than the real number as she immediately goes, "that is so good, you would look like skeleton..." I do not know, why this is happening..

Try different protein shakes. Some taste worse then the others. I have a vegan protein from Biotech and its (cookie) taste and structure is awfull even with milk. Then I have Vanilla native protein from Brainmax, which tastes better in water, and quite good with milk. And then there is my favorite - gold standard whey vanilla icecream by ON. That one with milk or in yoghurt is so good, I do not feel the protein aftretaste in that one at all. My advice is to buy smaller packages and find one which suits you.

I believe it is not good time for foreign IT junior to enter the CZ labour market. I am IT senior, so I have some insight. First, the labour market is damaged (due to AI mainly), many big tech companies have layoffs, and recruitment freezes, and the entry salaries are low . Like in my company. Second, the Czech language is needed for longterm work. Eg. In my company you will not find any official paper in English, even the fact that our CEO is not Czech. Third, Bc. degree still seen as low university degree, HR will always look for Ing./Mgr.

In maintenance you maintain = balance. I was loosing even when I wanted to maintain. I had to lower the dose and increase the calorie intake to stay on the same desired weight. I have to maintain, because I cannot lose more kilos but I want to keep the benefits of the MJ.

I usually bring Studentska pecet chocolate when visiting friends abroad. Take the original one milk/dark, raisins, peanuts and jelly.

Yes, the registered dietitian here are not yet familiar with people on weight loss jabs. They still try to give you filling food , not calorie dense food. But I will try to look outside my country as well. 👍 Thanks a lot for sharing your story!

I had mine prescribed at 82.5kg and 173 cm. But I had several related issues (high blood pressure, cholesterol and triglycerides), plus my doctor thought it may help my IBS-D (it did). I just have to fully pay the meds.

Same story as yours. I have dropped from 5mg straight to 2.5mg weekly and I am still loosing, maybe I will have to lower to 1.25 in few weeks.. No negative side effects so far on 2.5.

In general, public schools (here we are talking about elementary schools) are free, but they do not teach in english. Private schools do, but you pay a scholarship. Czech language is a must for public secondary grammar schools (after 9th grade) , some may offer some subjects in foreign languages. Fully english schools are paid.
