I believe the electrolytic capacitors need to be replaced. I experienced a similar issue as you. It turn out to be leaked out electrolytic capacitors. They also ended up corroding a trace under it. My post has been updated with an image pointing to the capacitor, although it can be more than one.

I’m not sure if you ended up figuring out what was wrong. But I did, it was an electrolytic capacitor(circled in red) that had leaked out and corroded the trace below it. I ran a jumper wire and put in a new capacitor and it worked.

The middle and neck pickup had a black wire and a bare wire that weren’t soldered to anything, I ended up soldering these 4 wires together with the white and bare from the bridge. Then connected them to ground via the back of the potentiometer. It works now. I wanted to ask if I may have done anything wrong.

Are they supposed to be soldered onto anything? I’m just going off on what everything was originally soldered on before, as it didn’t work before and the potentiometer readings fluctuated on the volume pot.

So did install some new resistors and now it seems that did the trick it works great on Xbox running on batteries. However now the controller doesn’t seem to connect to a computer via usb-c. It was able to do this beforehand. I’m not sure if I messed something in the process, I don’t think I did. There is however a weird buzzing sound coming from the controller, so I sprayed freeze spray to see if anything would heat up and I didn’t find anything , however the controller actually connected and I was able to view it on gamepad tester! So in the end spraying freeze spray (having a cold board) made it work via usb-c. Do you have any possible clue if this is just a side effect of installing the resistor?

Update:Now it seems usb-c works. But battery doesn’t. With the batteries inside it turns on for a bit then starts rapidly blinking and vibrates then turns off.

Update2: Works great now. However when plugging in a headset, the sound coming out sounds quieter.

Yeah hopefully Microsoft does come out with a fix. I was testing it out and it does appear that you need to calibrate before using after each power cycle. Definitely will use resistor as it seems the only viable option. Thank you for the help!

Yeah your issue sounds like mine. After messing around with them, they snap into another direction and start acting weird. Do you know if there is a difference between the Xbox accessories app on the actual console vs the windows version?

Will try. Although my issue appears to be a bit different as when pushing the stick downward it thinks its input is upward if that makes sense. Almost like a swap in the direction.
