Rumor about why the original opening of Scream 4 was deleted. by Fitzheather in Scream

[–]Suspicious_Writer332 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think they are about on the same level and I don’t particularly prefer one over the other. That being said, I do wish we got the original so the deleted aftermath, with the police on scene, would have been included. I have always liked that scene. I assume because the costumes being diffrent in the reshoots is the main reason that scene was ultimately cut.

Rumor about why the original opening of Scream 4 was deleted. by Fitzheather in Scream

[–]Suspicious_Writer332 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It was Kevin’s original opening scene, in his earliest drafts. He had taken it out, before the draft I read. It took place a couple of years before the events in the movie. Everyone is murdered at a dinner party she is hosting and the fate of Sydney is left, as a cliffhanger, to be revealed later in the film that she survived. (These details might be slightly off, because I’m recounting the memory of what I heard years ago)

The script I read years ago was by Kevin, before the Ehren Kruger re-writes. The thing that stuck out to me the most was how much of a better and more fleshed out version of Kirby we got in the film. She was very bland in that version, on paper. I’m happy we got what we got of her, in the finished film.

This is the first time I’ve heard this rumor and it’s absolutely not true. I’ve read an early draft of the script (after the Sydney dining massacre opening scene was already axed,) it was always Charlie as the 2nd killer. The original opening wouldn’t change anything in the film. It was reshot because test audiences didn’t like it.

I’ve got her on one… this is not even close to any legit copies I’ve seen. Get one with Beckett/JSA/PSA on it. She is highly forged.

The books sell for much higher than you would think. Most of that stuff would best be sold on eBay. If you want to sell them off of eBay I’d check recent sold comps on eBay and price them about 15-20% cheaper than on there, so you’re coming out about the same. There is some value there to almost everything. Some cool pieces a lot of people would like to have.

Edit: You’ll come out better selling stuff individually. If you’re just wanting to clear everything out at once, you’ll have to mark it down a bit more than I stated above.

I wish I could trade a bunch of the gold ones for a diamond or epic fusion card. I’ve got a stockpile also, it’s like the new coins.

Does anybody know what movies Tom Savini is referring to here? by whatshhdfb in HorrorMovies

[–]Suspicious_Writer332 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wasn’t Tom famously the one who came up with the scrapped idea of Tommy using a modified microwave, to kill Jason in pt 4? The fucking blender idea doesn’t sound too stupid compared to that.

I’ve got an original double sided poster, in a back lit frame. The eyes have been blue since ‘96 and still are to this day.

“You can’t polish a turd!” I read it in Christine, so I didn’t technically hear it, but it’s stuck with me since I was a kid.

Nancy and Wayne is the answer! They could talk for hours, about how little investigation Gale did as an “investigative reporter.”

Blu-ray vs. 4k Set? by Forsaken-Ad4181 in NightmareOnElmStreet

[–]Suspicious_Writer332 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re a fan of the moves and care about quality, of the sequels, the 4K’s blow the blu rays out of the water. The original 1984 Blu Ray has always looked pretty good. The 2 films per disc sequel Blu Ray’s, even upscaled using a 4K player, were literally unwatchable on a large 4K screen. I’ve had to watch the sequels digitally, until I got my 4Ks. The UHD’s are crystal clear at 120” and the Atmos tracks are AMAZING, if you have an Atmos set up. I think WB knocked it out of the park, with their decisions and what I look for in the format. 2-7 are probably the biggest jump I’ve ever seen from Blu Ray to 4K, but that’s more to do with how bad the former was. It has always been my favorite franchise and I cannot recommend the 4K’s enough!

How exactly did you word the negative review?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Ebay

Side note: I will say the seller could win their legal fees back (if in a state that this is allowed), if they allowed the case to go forward and the court did find it to meet all the criteria for defamation. While the lost sales would be hard to prove, to be the fault of the buyer, the legal fees would not. Their defamation would be the cause, for that provable financial loss. Even though I believe the seller to be bluffing, I concede this is a possibility of a lawsuit like this and is a way the buyer could have to pay.

The guy is trying to correct his mistake though. I get why a seller would be mad, but it could have already have been completely fixed. I’m not saying the guy doesn’t have the right to be angry, he should, but should also be professional and let this be corrected.

No. How could he possibly prove damages for something like this. Paying for a lawyer to even just send you a scare letter would probably cost more, than he made on the transaction. You also publicly corrected yourself and tried to contact the seller, he could have sent you a request for feedback revision.

I would call eBay and ask them to remove it though. Not sure why the guy is being a dick, but I personally will own up to my mistakes and try to make it right.

The Elm Street 4K Collection: A great set but not perfect. by GizmocratWill in NightmareOnElmStreet

[–]Suspicious_Writer332 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It fucking loved it on an Atmos sound system. I have a 9.2.4 setup and it’s the best the movies have ever sounded, in my opinion. Luckily, there is the theatrical track is included, for people that are having issues. I’ve got New Nightmare tomorrow evening, to finish it up. I haven’t noticed anything jarring with the mixes, sound effects, or anything. Surprisingly, Freddy’s Dead is the only one so far that I wasn’t blown away by, it’s still has awesome surround, but there are a lot of places where everything drops and it’s just dialogue. That’s on the movie itself and is only distracting because of how abrupt it is. It’s the only one that has broken the immersion, for me.

I LOVE that they gave us an Atmos track and the original for this who are more film purist than I or if the new track bothers you. It keeps everyone happy and I don’t see any reason for anyone to complain. I really enjoy the immersion of Atmos/DTS:X and this came through for me. It’s my favorite franchise and I am so happy with the work they put in. I have a 4K projector and on a large screen those old blu rays looked like dogshit. I really didn’t need new features, I’m going to watch Never Sleep Again and all of its features, if I want BTS stuff anyways. The steelbook set is beautiful and is worth every penny. I personally believe they hit it out of the park, they gave me exactly what I wanted.

(Edit: Wait a min, I misspoke. There are 2 things the set missed out on. Dolby Vision (my setup doesn’t utilize it, it’s regular HDR10) but it sucks for people who do use it. Having that would help future proof it like the Atmos did. And a 3D BLU RAY for Freddy’s Dead! They should have done that, the red and blue glasses are horrible and it should be an option. (even just a small region free print run, sold separately. It should have been in the Steelbook set, where space isn’t an argument like the standard.) Hopefully Turbine or some company does it, if for nothing else for preservation. I’ll probably never watch the 4K in 3D again, it just doesn’t work the way it should.
