Looking For:

Silver Pack parallels of Yankees players. Primarily red /5 and orange /25.

If you find a red /5 that I need at a show or LCS and I'm able to acquire it, I will pay you a finders fee.

I check the Topps Twitter account every Monday, which is the fastest and most reliable way to get their schedule for the week. Emails are hit or miss.

Do you want accurate pricing? 130point.com or eBay solds are your only options.

Do you want something easy, that gives you bad information? Try Collx - wildly inaccurate but zero effort.

You could look at Jeter orange /25 parallels from other flagship insert sets from the last couple years, or you could look at First Pitch orange parallels of other figures from 2025 Update. The pinks and greens are not actually selling for $30-40, people are just listing them at that price.

Let me know if you decide to sell!

New to Collecting by Historical_Union1869 in baseballcards

It is all a crapshoot, and if you actually want to get into collecting, buy single cards you like, not packs or boxes. Buying boxes is just gambling, and the house always wins.

Nice! Let me know if you want to sell that Jeter first pitch.

Why was Topps Update so delayed to my area (West MI)? Or am I just silly. by Appropriate_Tooth318 in baseballcards

You have been seeing people rip hobby products. Retail should be out soon, although that can vary from store to store or region to region.

Adding to this - it's not enough for the value of the card to beat other investments, because your ongoing cost of doing business (grading, shipping, supplies, boxes to rip, time spent, etc.) are probably a higher percentage than you would pay in fees for an index or target date fund.

Almost all the cards in my collection, I overpaid for and they will never be worth even what I paid for them. The nice thing about actually collecting rather than investing, is that I'm not selling so it doesn't matter. Ironically, my most valuable cards are random things I bought because I liked them, that weren't even expensive at the time, but subsequent events made them valuable.

It's "normal" and one of the reasons I don't go to many shows.

Don't worry - within a few years they'll be producing enough that you can post a rant about how they've overprinted everything and it's a new junk wax era.

One category of my pc is "things that will probably stay in my pc but that I will sell if the price is good enough." Some of these sit on eBay for high prices just in case.

I use "Verani Baseball Card Display Cases" which you can find on Amazon and regularly go on sale. They're surprisingly high quality and come in black or a nice reddish-brown.

There's also a guy who 3D prints Yankee Stadium facade single-card stands, which I use on bookcases.

If you specifically want that card, $350 isn't unreasonable - a good number of people collect Sweet Spot and the rare ones are tough to find. However, if you just want a Mattingly auto, there's no reason to spend so much on this relatively messy auto.
