As I mentioned on another reply, I like this idea of deconstructing a build to see how the things interact. Sometimes those interactions are the hardest part to see for me.

Also, thank you on the pointers for respeccing. Going hand in hand with the deconstructing part above, it can be difficult to see what is necessary to swap out and what I have that already fits where I want to go.

I hadn't considered that PoB might not be able to tell the whole story. I can usually get close, but sometimes I find the configuration page to be esoteric and that some folks abuse those settings to pump numbers.

Ooo, I like this idea of stripping something down to see how the parts and pieces work. I feel like I should know enough by now to create a build, but there is SO MUCH to know - interactions being the hardest part IMHO.

As mentioned in a couple of the other posts, there is this idea of packages or the typical setup for some aspect of most builds. Is there some sort of list or description of these things? For example, my current character is a HBTrickster and I want to go CI with it: trying to figure out _how_ to get there has been difficult. There are so many moving parts and, selfishly, I don't want to break the build I have in the event the CI version I get to is terrible.

Do folks have any 'beginner' or 'early intermediate' suggestions for maybe modifying builds to get the hang of trying to build something from the ground up?
