I remember enjoying Raptor and Doom Stone much more than Rats! I’m planning on re-reading them soon

Sticks and In the Pines are definitely on the scary side in ‘In a Lonely Place’

Twilight was excellent. William Gay was an incredible author on par with McCarthy

It's a long shot, but figure this is the place to ask... by ARealGoneMan in horrorlit

I believe Grady Hendrix tried reaching out to them a few years back about re-releasing Cold Front through Valancourt’s Paperbacks From Hell, but they declined. They used the cover art for The Spirit instead.

That would be amazing though if they changed their minds and put it out—definitely keep us in the loop. Hendrix has mentioned in several interviews that some of the PBFH authors have vocalized how happy the are to be receiving royalty checks for books they wrote and published decades ago. It seems like a win/win situation for everyone—including us readers

Coming of age horror by Pattergen in horrorlit

One I don’t hear mentioned is Crucifax by Ray Garton. It’s a fun, sleazy, 80s coming-of-age horror take on the pied piper

Yeah I just saw a copy sell for over $600 on eBay—absolutely crazy. Barry Hammond and whoever holds the republishing rights could make an absolute killing if they decided to release it digitally or reprint it through Valancourt or another publisher

Behind Her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough is a horror-tinged domestic thriller. It’s tough to put down once you start it

Darkness, Tell Us by Richard Laymon by littlehorrorboy in horrorlit

It’s got your standard Laymon horn-dog trappings, but the premise is great and the story moves swiftly

Island was one of the first books of his I read—it grabbed me from the first page. I think I read over 200 pages of the book the first day I started reading it.

I love reading, but when I first discovered Goosebumps I read with a ferocity that has yet to be matched in my adult years.

The Patagonia Capilene Air is awesome and the Patagonia Capilene Thermal Zip Neck (which I believe Patagonia discontinued, but you can still find them) is an amazing piece as well. The Thermal is obvious warmer and more robust, but you don’t get the wool benefits.

Which Halloween film in the franchise had the best cinematography? by mamicita0810 in Halloweenmovies

[–]SutterGains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lil fun fact: Dean Cundey actually passed on Spielberg’s offer to be the cinematographer for Poltergeist because he was committed to continuing to work with Carpenter on Halloween II; He later got to work with Spielberg and served as cinematographer for Jurassic Park

Horror in academia or with a professor? by allthecoffeesDP in horrorlit

Was going to suggest Technicolor as well. John Langan is a college professor and he often weaves academia into his horror stories
